Bridesmaids Dresses (mix and Match)

ERICA, on April 23, 2020 at 11:53 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6

I am deciding on bridesmaids dresses and looking for some suggestions or what others have done. I am interested in having 2-3 colors for bridesmaids dresses and I have 6 bridesmaids. I am also thinking of how the colors will match naturally if I let bridesmaids choose color and style.

For any brides who have done a mixed color for bridesmaids- did you decide the orders of the colors and let bridesmaids choose style in that color or did you just say choose a color and style and roll with it?

Looking forward to hearing some feedback!!

We used vintage mauve and dusty rose from Azazie. We picked each BM’s color based on how they would be standing at the ceremony and walking down the aisle. They chose their own styles.

Personally, I think I would pick 3 colors from one shop & let your maids pick the style they are most comfortable in. If you’re afraid you’ll end up with too many of one color, ask your maids in a group text which color they would prefer to wear and proceed from there

I told them if they could stay within blush pinks and gave them a few examples. they all went with different gowns and different shades but in photos it actually looked really cohesive

We are doing burgundy and taupe bridesmaid dresses (see below) and they are going to be one of those convertible dresses where they can wear it in like 50 different ways, whichever is their personal preference. I have 8 bridesmaids and they will be alternating. Our wedding colors are burgundy, champagne, and silver. The last pic is our general inspo Bridesmaids Dresses (mix and Match) 1

I was in a wedding where the bride gave each of us a paint chip with a designated color and said we could pick whatever knee length dress we wanted as long as it matched our designated color. In another wedding I was in, the bride had us all in the same color (we were told to pick our dresses from Azazie), but she said we could pick whatever style we wanted. Both looked pretty and the best part is we got to choose a dress we each felt comfortable in, which helped us to look and feel our best! I would say I did like the paint chip idea because I got a dress that worked with my budget and I was able to try it in the store. While the Azazie dress looked nice on me, I didn't get to try it on in advance and had to buy a dress that was, at the time, somewhat outside of my budget. I could have bought early and returned it, but 1. Returning is a hassle 2. With the high flow of orders, I was worried the dress would be delayed. Hope this helps!

I bought this dresses for my bridesmaids. However, it’s hard to hide the nipple covers or any stickies. I ended up cutting and sewing a strapless bra to make it wearable without them feeling uncomfortable.

How do your bridesmaids going to wear them without showing their nipples?
