Bridesmaids: different styles in a few different shades

Soooo pretty!!! Wish I had thought about that!! My girls did same color (Bellini from David’s Bridal) but whatever style they wanted. Different shoes, whatever jewelry and hair they wanted. My little sister is special needs and I picked a jumpsuit for her with a crystal headband. She was so excited!!

Mine were in diff shades of pink but when it photographed it was pretty similar

Unless done right this can end up looking very disorganized and rather distracting for guests. As a guest I would be paying more attention to what the bridesmaids were wearing than the bride and groom. We didn't do this, but my photographer recently photographed a wedding that the bride just had the girls wear pinkish dresses and I think it looks awful. It looks like the girls just picked a dress from their closest without any real thought behind it. I think the only way to pull this off is if you have the length and fabrics consistent so like either all long or all short dresses. The mixture of so many different elements just doesn't look good in my opinion.

View Quoted Comment If your sister wasn't interested then she shouldn't have been a bridesmaid. I would recommend having a get together with your girls to make sure you like how it all looks together rather than waiting until your wedding day and realizing you hate it and at that point it is too late.

I'm doing something similar too! I have three bridesmaids and chose three different shades of blue from Azazie for them to wear - my goal is an ombre/watercolor look. Style of dress (as long as they're all the same length), shoes, etc. is all up to them and what they're comfortable wearing. I love the blues and greens together, it reminds me of seaglass

I think different shades and styles together looks messy so I’ll be picking the same color and same dress for them all to wear! I have 7 bridesmaids and when my friend let us pick our own dresses for her wedding but no one could have the same dress it was a nightmare in my opinion. I felt it would have been easier if they just said this is the dress and color, just go pick your size. I’ll let my girls wear what shoes they want as long as they’re nude and I’ll just give them guidelines for hair like all up or down or half up half down but whatever looks best on their face shape they can pick!

If you are having them pick the color and dress I would make sure it's from the same line or brand so it doesn't look so random.

I think it's a great idea, as long as you give guidelines. Don't just say "green" if you want mint shades, ya know? I'm sure it'll be gorgeous!
