Hi lady’s, just over 300 days to go. With that said when did you start shopping for bridesmaids dresses? I know we don’t want to go to early(wedding is October 3,2020) but I don’t want to wait till the last minute either.

I'd start looking now just because you don't want things to be on back order or anything like that. I'm in a wedding in September ordered my dress on black Friday and it won't be here till February.

We did ours about 4-6 months out. Dresses all took about a month to come in from David's Bridal, some even quicker. You definitely don't want to order too early, as alterations add up, but you could definitely start looking now and narrow down your options.

My bridesmaids ordered theirs about 3 1/2 months out. They were from David's bridal and all came in within a month, some in just a couple weeks. I would recommend looking for dress in June or July Smiley smile

We started shopping for dresses about 6-8 months in advance.

Mine is 10/24/20. I just bought my dress a couple weeks ago. It was off the rack take home. If it were to be ordered, I'm sure it would've taken months to arrive...plus alterations. Never too early in my opinion.

I would at least start looking, get some ideas, try some stuff on even if you aren't hardcore looking. I think the rule of thumb is about 6 months out just to take into account alterations or anything they may need. But it also really depends on the place. I know we found my bridesmaids dresses the second week in November and they won't even be ready for pickup until February.

I picked a color, fabric & length 14 months out and let the girls order whenever. Some ordered as early as 10 months out and some as late as 3 months out, from Azazie.

Our wedding is 11.8.2020 and basically everything is booked/planned out— my girls have been looking for their dress (I told them to all look around and let me know what they find and then we can make the decision all together as to which one will work for all of them to wear)

The bridal shop I purchased my wedding dress from said it can take up to 4 months for the bridesmaids dresses to come in so I plan on looking for theirs in Feb. My wedding is Oct. 25th 2020. Also, they may need alterations so you want enough time for that to happen as well.

Depends where you order from. It's fine to pick dresses now if you want, but Azazie for example usually comes in a couple weeks. David's bridal could take a little longer. I would pick what you want and then just give the girls the average wait time that the website or store gives you and let them deal with it.

We went shopping for the dresses in August (and actually they bought them that day), we're getting married in March. The store we went through said to expect 2 - 3 months for the dresses to come in and my girls didn't want to risk not getting the dresses in time for alterations since most of them are having a family member do the alterations.

I got married October 5th of this year and started seriously looking at bridesmaids dresses around April. I decided to have my girls order the dress of their choice (in the color of my choice) from Azazie and just asked that they have it ordered by August.

Start looking now in case you fall in love with bridesmaid dresses that require a lot of time to order, but when you have one picked out you can have your bridal party wait to order.

I started looking for bridesmaid dresses fairly early but i didn’t pick them until about 3 months ago (8 months to wedding) and I shared them with my girls a couple weeks ago (6 months out) but they’re also ordering from Amazon so they’ll get them fairly quickly. I told my girls to have them ordered by February in case they don’t fit.

Due to one of my bridesmaids being out of state I had to do two different appointments. My sister got her dress in March when I did my alterations and my other bridesmaid went in May when she came to visit. My wedding was last month and it took about a month for both girls to get their dresses.

With October being such a popular month for weddings, I would start looking now. I got engaged 11 months before my wedding and we started doing dresses about 10 months out.

Hey! We're getting married on the same day! Congrats girl!
All of my bridesmaids and MOHs live out of state, and one of them is now pregnant. So I will be asking them to order their dresses by the end of March. Mostly because the checklist says to lol and because I don't want them to be scrambling at the last minute.

My wedding is on July and most of my girls just ordered them yesterday. I've heard horror stories of dresses cutting it too close so I would rather be safe than sorry
