Bridesmaid (too light?)

RY, on September 13, 2021 at 8:25 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10

Hello,

So I'm having a couple girls take photos with me (the bride) pre-ceremony and am having them match in shades of pinks.

One sent me this photo as their dress. Am I being sensitive to think it's too light? I don't want to come off as a bridezilla or anything. I did kind of mention it to her but I don't think she even understands what the problem with it is as it's still a shade of pink.

Other girls a wearing more saturated dresses.

That is very pale, but on the plus side, it's short and not overly wedding-dress-ish, so I don't think it will be a problem, assuming your own gown isn't also shorter in length? If you're wearing a big glitzy gown I'd let this one go.

If you're wearing a more understated, basic dress, I'd say it's ok to bring up with her that you're worried it will photograph white.

I agree with this. It doesn't look anything like a wedding dress so I wouldn't worry about it

To be honest, if I saw this picture without the preface that it’s light pink, I would have said it’s white. If no one else taking photos with you is wearing a very light pink shade, I’d voice my concern again.

I would voice your concern. I thought that dress was white or ivory at first glance.

If the belt is detachable, could she dye it pink? That would make the whole dress look pink and not so pale. Very bright pink accessories would also help the dress look pink. As it is, it is pretty close to white, but it certainly doesn’t look like a wedding dress.

I guess that's a good way to think! thank you (-:

She's already bought the dress and the day is two weeks away so it may be a little too late now.

And even though I already did mention about it being photographed white she's waiting til she actually receives it to see how pale it is in person. So we will have to wait til then.

Honestly I think they'll look nice together. And, if it gives you further comfort, this is my bridesmaid dress colour online:

and here it is when it arrived. In real life, it is WAY darker than I expected. Maybe this dress will be the same!

I would have a problem with it. Everyone knows to steer clear of anything even close to white, ivory, champagne, etc.

Rosie- your dresses are so cute! Definitely can be worn again.

Oh since the other shades are pale too I think I’d leave it be. It will look fine with those and they may bring out the pink in it in person. Since they’re all pale tones I think it’s hard to draw the line for what is TOO pale.
