Bridesmaid Proposals!

Nicole, on October 17, 2019 at 4:25 PM Posted in Planning 0 9
Alright ladies, I need your help! I want to ask all my girls to be in my wedding in a super cute way! I wasn’t sure what route I should take. Personalized items? A gift box full of odds and ends like hair ties, nail polish, etc.? A bottle of wine? Load me up with suggestions! Haha

I gave them these with their favorite bottles of wine and a handwritten paragraph about how much they mean to me on the back of these cards Smiley smile

I did something similar with wine bottles! I got from etsy a personalized label for the wine bottle asking them to be a BM, and then had a personalized wine bag as well.

I texted them individually to make sure they could afford it & had time, then when they said yes I sent out formal proposal boxes. They were wood jewelry boxes with their first initial, then inside was a liquor shooter, nail polish, and hair ties that said "to have and to hold your hair back". Then a card asking & some wedding information. I've been a BM twice, one just asked & the other sent a personalized card. If I would do it again, I'd probably send a little fancier boxes like the ones you see on Etsy with candles & mini champagne bottles. I was all into DIY in the beginning and quickly realized I was not a DIY bride hahaha! I love getting things like coffee mugs & fuzzy socks & lotion, so those would all be good gifts too.

I would get them either a personalized gift (something you know they specifically would like, as if you were getting them a birthday present) and something you want them to have for the wedding, like a piece of jewelry to wear with their dress, a travel mug for coffee during hair and makeup, a flask for the bachelorette—whatever makes sense for your group. Then I would add a personalized card asking them to be in my party and telling them why I’m choosing them and how they’re special to me, with an insert with any wedding info (date, location, dress info if you have that picked yet, etc) you have pinned down.

I got these boxes on Amazon. I filled them with homemade cookies, champagne/coffee, my favorite candle from Bath and Body Works, and a face mask. I also added cards with details and info (Our Day, Your Role, Your Attire).

I didn't do anything except send them all a text with the picture of my mirror proposal to my FH. I sent the picture with "So...I did a thing..." They all responded with something along the lines of OMG we get to plan a wedding. My best friend knew she was my MOH without my asking, my 2 daughters knew they were in it. The only one that was lost was my sister.

I thought she knew, I never asked and that was my mistake. However, I was almost worth the mistake when I was talking to her on the phone one night. I asked her why she wasn't adding anything to the dress showrooms for the bridesmaids and I swear I could hear the light bulb above her head burst when she realized. She started laughing and I could tell she was happy dancing in the Hobby Lobby.

Etsy has a lot of cute and inexpensive gifts to ask your bridesmaids. Im planning on buying a few that i like along with a card and putting it in a cute box to ask them 😊

I had FH design a coffee mug that said "A wedding is brewing, will you be my bridesmaid?" and filled it with chocolate, hot cocoa, and an airliner bottle of vodka.
