Bridesmaid proposals that don't suck

Lindsay, on May 18, 2017 at 10:32 PM Posted in Planning 1 18

I've been a bridesmaid and have gotten nice "bridesmaid proposal" gifts but now that i'm the bride everything seems silly. does anyone have good ideas on a way to ask/gift to give? i've always thought that it makes more sense to do the big gifts as part of the wedding weekend, and would like to keep that thought process. what have you done/seen that is cute and fun?

Just took them out to dinner and asked. and had a little gift bag with things that they like (wine, nail polish, chocolate)- i think keeping simple is best. now that im reaching near the end of my engagement, i think bridesmaids can care less on how you ask

Just take them out to lunch or coffee and ask them. No one needs the junky stuff that many brides put in bridesmaid proposal boxes. They will be glad not to have to take those delightfully personalized wine glasses to the thrift shop.

I slapped a sticker on a bottle of wine. Who doesn't like wine?

I got them personalized mugs, charm necklaces that fit their style, lotion, and lots of chocolate.

I am just going to order a card off etsy for each girl that fits their personalities and give it to them when we go out for lunch or whatever when it gets closer. I have an idea of who I want in my BP but it is WAY too early for me to ask hahah, still over 2 years out for me!

WIne bottles with the labels and maybe a card are perfect.

I'm with you, I would have rather saved money for a nicer official gift

A card, a photo of us together (because it's so rare to have an actual photograph since everything is digital) , tote bag because it's corny but tote bags are the best, fashion tape, advil, alcohol minis, socks. For my mohs I added a lipstick. Mini band Aid packs and lint roller. Idk why lol

I did little boxes I got from Michael's. It thought they were perfect since my girls could use them for jewlery or whatever they so chose. I did small everyday items like chapstick and a little emergency kit. I put some nice gifts like necklaces or hair ties (they're sporty and always losing hair ties). It was a simple gift, but they really appreciated it and have even used most of it. I wish I had done more, but I had spent way too much at that point since I had 5 girls to ask.

I truly believe that a heartfelt phone call or asking in person is the best way.

I got a picture frame with a few photos of me and that person and put letters on it asking them. It did not cost a lot and it's something they can keep. All of my girls really enjoyed it.
