Bridesmaid proposal

Julia, on December 13, 2016 at 3:25 PM Posted in Planning 0 10

Hi everyone! So I am having some trouble figuring out what to put in my bridesmaid proposal boxes... I know I will include their getting ready robes in there. I want to put something else that is useful in there. No nail polish or alcohol lol. Any suggestions?

I put a bracelet, nail polish, a golf ball (got married at a country club), hair ties, and a mini champagne bottle in my boxes!

I would keep it simple. Just FYI, we've heard a few horror stories about bridesmaids getting elaborate, expensive "proposals" only to have to tell the bride they aren't willing or able to be in the wedding party. Or, feeling guilted into being in the wedding party when they really weren't in a position to say yes. Do you already know your bridesmaids plan to say "yes," or will this be a surprise?

I used funny cards I found on Etsy that were just a few bucks apiece, wrote short and sweet messages inside, and dropped them in the mail. I didn't do anything except the card. But they're getting nice thank you gifts Smiley smile

Ring pop candies are also a popular suggestion. You could also do mini bottles of lotion or hand sanitizer. The Body Shop has some good specials on travel sized goodies right now.

For the "proposal" I put a ring pop in a box and wrote each girl a sweet card. For the actual gift, I gave a robe, jewelry, pictures from the bachelorette party, flip flops for the reception in case they wanted to take off their shoes, and monogrammed bags.

I wouldn't go too elaborate on the proposals. Like PPs have said, we've read some awful stories on here where brides spent tons of money on the proposal and then the BM turned them down.

I think a robe is plenty. I did personalized Starbucks cups with a gift card.

I printed a few paper products myself! A "will you be my", a "save the date", a mini map of the area, and a poem. I also included Hershey's Hugs and Kisses, and a mini bottle of wine. I got a heart-shaped hole punch from Michael's and used it to make confetti in the wedding colors. It was a lot of fun!

Robe with a nice note will work perfectly!

I had talked to my girls before asking, so they pretty much knew they were going to be asked. I would recommend going that route. I got mine a diamond candle that was fall scented since our wedding is in the fall and included a photo of us on a card asking to be my bridesmaid.

I found sweet rose gold knot earrings on Etsy that come with a card that say "I can't tie the knot without you!" and handmade a card since finances are a bit tight right now. I'm hand-delivering all but two of the six (one of my best friends lives in Seattle and the other girl is my fiance's best friend that I asked to be a bridesmaid and I don't know all that well).

I saw some really cute bracelets that say Bridesmaid and Maid of Honor that I thought were really cute. I thought about something like that and a cute coffee mug with their names on them, nothing big, simple and sweet.

I had a box with , ring pop, mini champagne, lip balm, lotion and a handwriting card. My entire box was less than $10 cause I have 11 girls didn't want to over do the proposal when I still have to purchase thank you gifts for them anyway
