Bridesmaid Proposal Timeline

Nessa, on April 18, 2016 at 9:57 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 7

I know most of you suggest waiting as long as possible to do a bridesmaid proposals, since relationships may change. However, our wedding will be in TN and we are in FL, so I want to ask a little earlier in order to give everyone ample time to request time off work, save money, etc.

When do you all think is a good time? Most of my bridesmaids live in the same city except for one that is out of the country and myself (I'm 5hrs away.) I would like to gather and propose to all at once (they all know each other well.) So, I have to play with our breaks and when everyone is town. These are the options:

August 2016

April 2017

August 2017 (and I can't do later than this.)

I asked my bridesmaids in August 2015 for my September 2016 wedding.

They're my sisters, future sis-in-law and a very good friend.

I asked after my venue was booked and date was secure.

All of my bridesmaids live in a different state than me but o love them all to death. I asked mine in March 2016 and I'm getting married in June 2017. Although I was originally getting married in March and had to push the date back. Either way, it's up to you!

A year out is good. Maybe you could do it around Christmas?

I would say April 2017. August is too soon, still over a year away. If you can do it sooner in 2017 (it sounds like you can't) I'd do Dec 2016 or Jan 2017.

April 2017 so they can have enough time to plan accordingly.

I would love to do Dec. 2016 but we have three weekend available:

The first is my best friend's bachelorette party, she will have her wedding Jan 2017. So I really don't want to steal her thunder as we have many of the same friends.

The other is Christmas and the following is New Years! We all travel back home just a few days after.
