Bridesmaid Numbers not equal with Groomsmen

Amber, on October 4, 2019 at 10:26 PM Posted in Planning 0 14
Have any of you had uneven numbers? My fiance wants 5 groomsmen, but I only have 4 bridesmaids that I'm sure about.

I have 2 other friends I could ask, but I'm not sure if I should.

Do you think bridal partys look better with even numbers?

We are. I only have a MOH and one bridesmaid, while he has a best man and two groomsmen. I wish I know another person to ask, but I don't have and close friends

You shouldn’t. There’s nothing wrong with having uneven sides. We have 4 on one side and 3 on the other.

I have an uneven party. Have 2 guys walk with a girl or have the best man walk out with the groom and officiant. If you are sure about 4 then stick with it. I had to fire someone out of my party. It was someone I honestly never wanted in my party. She kind of just put herself in. There are other things to stress about.

Nah, human relationships don’t fit into symmetrical packages. I wanted my 3 bffs, and my H wanted 4 guys, so that’s what we did , and there was absolutely no issue what so ever

I had 5 bridesmaids and he had 4 groomsmen and I was just gonna have the best man circle back and walk with another BM or have all guys walks first in a single file line and then all girls in the same style. It ended up working out because my maid of honor can no longer attend sadly. So you can make it work no worries!

I think it's ok if it's uneven too

Uneven is perfectly fine. I have 1 bridesmaid and he has two groomsmen. It's all about what you're comfortable with.

As a personal opinion I'd love to have them even or somewhat close at least. I did have to talk my fiance down from his 6 original because after moving so much I knew I'd never be able to come up with something close to that. I wouldn't mind zero myself, but eh

Thanks everyone! I was more concerned about how photos would look, but after looking online it seems there are plenty of way to make them look good.
Our ceremony will be outside so I'm thinking of just making the aisle wide enough for a bridesmaid to walk down with 2 groomsmen.

If the groomsmen and bridesmaids numbers are off by one, it’s not going to make a difference. My husband had 4 groomsmen (his brothers) and I had 3 bridesmaids and it was fine. Don’t try to dig up someone to make the numbers even, just go with who you truly want to be your bridesmaids.

We're having uneven wedding parties. I think it's rude to ask people just for the sake of having even sides

Uneven wedding parties are vey common now and look more natural because it is unlikely that you both have the exact same number of friends. I had 3 of my closest friends and he had his brother.
