Bridesmaid Gifts?????

Maura, on September 4, 2014 at 3:15 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 20

I am really having a hard time deciding on bridesmaid gifts. I don't have that big of a budget and have been trying to plan my wedding as inexpensive as possible, but I really do appreciate my girls and what to get them something nice.

Saying that I need to stick to my budget. Any ideas would be great! I want to get them something meaningful and something they can use after our wedding. And something that when they look at it they remember the wedding day. Thanks!

I actually went and made all of my girls hangers with their initials on them. They will be able to use them after the wedding is over for sure. I also bought them their jewelry. I would check out the other site and see what they have. I got an email the other day saying they were having a big sale.

I went to Kohls and got their jewelry for the wedding. Also I went online to Things Remembered got them keepsake jewelry boxes with their names engraved. They have good sales / deals. I got the keepsake jewelry boxes for $6 each and they are lovely. I plan to place their jewelry in the box as part of the gift wrapping

I bought them wedding jewelry (I didn't spend alot, but at least they all will match), A monogrammed bag with their initials on it, and I think I'm going to get them each a small body spray/lotion/nail polish maybe? It doesn't have to be a huge gift for them to appreciate it!

I got them all of the same things, but different to match each of their personalities. I got them each a pair of earrings that they can wear the day of the wedding, an Alex and Ani bracelet, makeup bag with nail polish, spa lotions and lip gloss and a glitter wine tumbler.

Shop for them like its their birthday. It doesn't have to be expensive just thoughtful. Keep in mind anything for the wedding/pictures is considered part of their uniform and is not a gift.

ETA: If I get one more monogrammed makeup case for the nearly nonexistent makeup I wear I might lose it. At least put like a cat or a beer on it, I know what my initials are. Just one girls opinion.

I bought my bridesmaids a lululemon zip up hoodie so they can wear them while we get ready. I also got my mom, step mom, and grooms mom a zip up hoodie, but I got them Zella (on sale at Nordstroms right now!) because their sizes ranged a lot more than lulu has to offer.

    Good luck!

I got my girls personalized totes ($10) and waffle robes ($14), both from theknot.com, the plan is for them to wear the robes while we are getting ready (also for cute photo opts). I intend on rolling the robe up, putting it in the tote, and filling the empty space with a bunch of other little random things that fit their personality.

Thanks for all the ideas! I think I am going to get them jewelry because they have been asking what I would like for them wear, as well as their nail polish. I was also thinking about a make up bag or a clutch with a schedule and a personal letters to each of the girls.

I am going to get everyone robes to wear while they are getting their hair/makeup done the day of. I am also getting glitter wine tumblers monogrammed with initials for getting ready so they don't spill anything LOL. I am getting their jewelry for the day of and I also want to do something else that is personal to them, but haven't decided on that yet.

Where do you guys find the tumbles?? So far I've gotten my girls clutches that will match their dresses but that's it! =(. Oh, and personalized hangers but I didn't really think of that as a gift, I just thought it'd look cute for pictures. I'd really love to get them each a piece of jewelry that is more a thank you than something they have to wear for the wedding. I think I'm thinking too deep into it lol.

Sally, I don't think you are thinking too deep, I think that sentiment is completely appropriate, the thank you not for wedding thing, that is really how gifts should be done. I'm giving a couple of my girls jewelry because that is their thing, the others not so much so they will get something else personal to them.

I got my girls a Kate Spade clutch (they were on sale, but the colors match their personalities perfectly), and I also got them a men's shirt with their initials. They can choose to wear this shirt the day of the wedding if they want, but they don't have to - I got it because they all love to lounge around the house in comfy clothing, so I thought this would be perfect.

I'm also getting them a hanger with their name on it and paying to have their hair and make-up done for the wedding - I don't really consider these gifts, though. My bridesmaids told me I didn't need to get them a gift since I asked them if they would like to have their hair and make-up done (I didn't force them, it was completely their decision), so they considered that to be a gift to them. This just shows that bridesmaids don't expect the world from you in terms of gifts, and chances are they are grateful just for what you're giving them as part of the wedding day experience.

Theknot.com has really cute totes / makeup bags on sale! You could monogram them. $16 each.
