There was a similar post to this just a few days ago.

I'm giving my BMs flannels as getting ready shirts, but not doing anything to embellish them so they are able to wear them later. I don't particularly have anything against people who bejewel or get "Bridesmaid" printed on flannels or t-shirts but I wouldn't want to spend money on something that I know the girls wouldn't ever wear again.

And the robes are just awkward looking for pictures and really only work at all if you and all your girls are 5'5" and skinny - doesn't sound like you're heading in that direction, but don't.

Check out the Iowa garden wedding BAM. They wore PJs and it was adorable.

I ordered denim button ups from wish.com. ( i had to air them out, but they are fine now) we'll wear those and black leggings.

More original? Tell them to wear whatever they are comfortable in. On what other occasion do we pretend that it is ok for one woman to tell all the others what to wear just so the bride can get some cute pics?

I'm considering doing nice zip-up hoodies with their monograms embroidered on the front left. I like the look of button up shirts, but I want them to get more use out of what they wear and I feel like my girls would be more likely to wear a hoodie after the wedding. Definitely interested to see others' ideas, though!

Something more original would be letting them decide what they want to wear. Unoriginal is picking out cute matching robes because that's what everyone in the world does.

@muriel j. Still wanting a cohesive look for pictures. My bridesmaids are fine with this- was just trying to get ideas other than robes and not negativity!

@stephanie p I like the idea of hoodies! My sister had a clothing company too and could easily help me out with this!

We didn't do getting ready pictures so i just avoided this one altogether--but honestly, in the 3 weddings i've been a BM in, the brides had no specifications for what to wear while we got ready. i had no idea that this was a thing till i started following posts on here.

All three of my girls (including myself) work in offices, so I was thinking of getting the sleeveless button-down Portofino shirts from Express in different colors that we can all use again.

I think spirit tees are cute. Maybe have them monogrammed. I wouldn't put any bridesmaid or other info on it so they can wear it again.

I don't know why people get so uptight about matching getting ready outfits. Some posters act as if purchasing matching outfits for your bridal party to wear is the biggest inconvenience in the world. I always like receiving free clothes.

I'm the BAM @chapel mentioned. I don't have pics on my phone, but the BAM is still on the first couple pages so you can find it if you want.

We really enjoyed our PJs. They were covering and comfy, and way more likely to be worn again. I've actually been wearing them on our HM, and my BMs asked where I got them because they wanted to buy more pairs for themselves.

I also was very clear that they didn't have to wear them if they didn't want to.

@brittany that's a cute idea! I'll look into it. Yeah I don't get why people get so uptight either. Like all my bridesmaids are fine with it so what's your problem? I think the matching pjs are cute

@Brittney I didn't get uptight at all. I can give a crap less that people want to let their BMs match. I was actually stating that it is more original to let them choose what they want because nowadays the norm is to have them matching. She asked for something original and I gave my response.

My girls are all wearing leggings and loose fitting Tees. It is not part of my gift to them as I feel things like that for photos are not considered gifts.

@future mrs g you missed the point of my post. I want them wearing something cohesive but more original than robes as I think that's overdone. I don't want them wearing whatever. It's not a gift- it's something I want so I am purchasing for them.

@Kristyn- having a different opinion doesn't make anyone uptight or negative. Name calling will only end up with you getting less responses when you post another thread looking for help.

My bridesmaids all want to wear something cute & actually wanted the robes, so that's what I am getting them. Obviously they don't NEED to wear them, I would never make them wear anything they didn't want to, but it worked out. I love the PJ's that @fallinthegarden had in her pics!!! I have seen the flannels, tanks, button down mens shirts & t shirts I think they are all really cute!
