Bridesmaid dresses

Astrid, on September 23, 2019 at 6:50 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 13
Would it be better to order bridesmaid dresses online or to go into a bridal shop to choose? I have a pretty wide range of body types for my girls so it would have to be something size-inclusive. Any recommendations for particular stores/websites?

This depends on if all of your girls are local and if you could easily get them together at one time. My girls were all over the country so it was easiest to give them a color and length and let them order online. We did Azazie and they have a wide range of sizes and it worked out great.

My girls have a wide arrange of body types and height and they got theirs online from Lulu's, azazie and Amazon. Azazie is definitely a good one.

My bridesmaids are the same way. I just chose a color and told them that it needed to be floor length, then let them pick whatever dress they wanted from the Vera Wang collection at David’s Bridal

If you are okay with them all having a different style of dress then I would just give them a color and length guideline like the other ladies have suggested. But if you want them in the same dress then it would probably be easier not only for you but your girls to try on at a physical store. If you want everyone in the same dress but order online then there really is no way of knowing that that style works for everyone, so I would think trying before buying is the better way to go.

Azazie would be a great place to look! They even do free custom sizing

I agree with PP that it depends whether you want all your ladies in the same dress or just the same length/color. If you want them in the same dress, I think it’s important to go to the store so you can see the dress on different body types. If you’re letting them pick, I don’t think it matters as much, but you could ask your bridesmaids if an online retailer would be easier for them.

Online is best. I provided a color and only asked that they stay in the same color family (closely, not distantly related) so that we all looked like we were on the same team.

I also wanted them to select 👗es that were affordable, comfortable, re-wearable, and covered up top.

Other than that, they pretty much had an open field to play in.

I definitely recommend Azazie.com! They have plus-size dresses and the girls can even try them on at home for $10 to make sure they order the right size! They have a ton of styles that come in the same colors so if you're wanting them to just pick a dress in a specific color this website is amazing! Fast shipping and very user friendly!

My girls ordered from azazie. They had similar dresses to David's bridal, but they were a little cheaper.

My MOH got hers of Azazie and i'm glad. She did the try and home option for sizing and it was a perfect fit. I think it's a great option if the girls are located all over. My bridesmaid dragged her feet and we weren't able to get the same dress or the same color and had to go with Torrid

I had everyone go shopping and try dresses on in person to get an idea of what styles look good on everyone and then ended up deciding on dresses that were only sold online.

I had 9 bridesmaids. They ranged from 24-36 years old, sizes 00 to size 18, 5'0" to 5'10", and had all different shades of hair, eyes, and skin. I knew there was NO way I'd find one dress they all loved. So I picked a color, fabric, and length from Azazie and let them pick their own dresses. They had over 100 options from $89-$169 and all felt comfortable in their dresses.

I would say this depends on budget. Are you wanting to make it as affordable as possible?

If you are aiming to keep the cost low I would suggest avoiding bridal boutiques unless they have a killer sale going on. Boutiques jack their dress prices by almost double of what the dress actually costs. I wouldn't shop at a boutique but I would maybe plan a day with the ladies to try on dresses just to narrow down cut of dress and maybe color(s).

I only have three bridesmaids (all VERY different body types) & we picked out all their dresses online! And all three were under $75. We purchased these dresses on Tobi, Lulus (HIGHLY RECCOMMEND Lulus) & Pink Lily. I took their measurements before ordering and all dresses fit PERFECTLY. Only one of them needs a hem.

I would say shopping online also depends on the look you are going for. If you are wanting everyone in the exact same color I would check out Lulus or expect to pay more at a boutique. If they can where whatever as long as it was in a certain shade range I would say basically the world is their oyster!
