Bridesmaid dresses

Chelsea, on April 9, 2020 at 11:35 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 15
Wedding is next July should the bridesmaid be in long or short dresses? Should I leave it up to the majority of the vote. All I care about is same material and color besides my matron of honor in dusty rose. The 7 others will be in blush.

It depends more on the formality of your wedding than the season. Short dresses are more casual and long are more formal.

I haven't seen short dresses at any weddings I've been to in quite a few years. I would do long.

I'm not a fan of short dresses for weddings, but I agree that it depends mostly on the formality of the event. For a casual backyard BBQ style reception, short might be more appropriate.

I wore a short dress for a wedding last year. I don't mind them, but personally I prefer long ones. I would also say it depends if you have any of your wedding outdoors in July. Then short dresses might be more appropriate for that type of setting.

I let mine just decide for themselves. i personally prefer short but all of mine chose long ahah i think because they felt that was more formal looking but i felt like a short dress would be easier to rewear since that is more practical. that OR i was encouraging them to find a dress they will wear again or one cheap enough that they won't care about needing to rewear

So I guess I’m torn because I’m have a 250 guest wedding at a theater but I’m doing a simple rustic theme. I’m more laid back but I guess some parts of the wedding is formal. Or ceremony and reception are at the same location. Outside for photos only lol. I’ve been tugged both ways. I have 8 ladies all different shapes and sizes. Someone told me knee caps are ugly lol but the short dresses are fun and cute but long is beautiful.

I am currently MOH and she also let us choose gowns. i instantly chose a more midi-short length and i think someone else in the bridal party chose long. i definitely think even if you mix and match lengths and stuff, as long as it's the same colors itll look fine. my own MOH had a high-low dress-- short in the front and long in the back while my other bridesmaids all had long and so it didn't look too weird overall.

I prefer long bridesmaids dresses. I just don't think wedding when I think short dresses. But this depends on your formality. What do you planning on having the guys wear? If they are going to wear full suits or tuxes, I would definitely go with long. My wedding was the end of July last year on one of the hottest days of the year. Our ceremony and reception were at the same location indoors. We took some outside photos but very limited because it was so hot outside. I picked long dresses for my wedding. Short might have been better if out wedding was outdoors, but being that it was 100 degrees they still would have been warm. In fact, the groomswoman complained because I asked her to out on the robe I bought for getting ready photos because she said she was warm and she was wearing barely there shorts and a revealing tank top with a cut out in the back. The robes were thin material and short so short bridesmaids dress would definitely have covered more. Another option would be to let your bridesmaids decide what they are comfortable in. For my brother-in-law's wedding his wife picked store and color and let the girls decide from there. She had 3 bridesmaids. Two picked the exact same long dress and the third picked a short dress. It didn't look strange. They also weren't really standing next to each other because she also had 3 bridesmen in the lineup.

I chose 5 different gowns ranging from long or short and every other choice and let my girls vote for what they liked.

I prefer long dresses for bridesmaids. Short dresses look like a Sunday church dress, in my opinion. However, if you are having a very casual wedding, short would be fine.

I prefer long dresses - it looks more formal and more bridesmaid-like if that’s makes sense? But that’s just my opinion!

I was a bridesmaid with a short dress in 2017. I liked the dress and it fit her wedding well. My girls will be in long (1 reason because if I chose a shorter dress I felt it would resemble the one I wore in hers too much and 2 the long just fits with the essence/vibe I’m going for).

Being that your wedding is in July I would think about how much outdoor time you all will have and the temps/weather for where you’re at.
