Bridesmaid dresses

Rebecca, on October 30, 2024 at 2:09 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 2
My bridesmaids are getting their dresses from Azazie. I would like them all in the same dress because my brain enjoys symmetry, but they all have wildly different body types. I created a showroom for them and we've been adding and commenting on dresses. Its important to me that they are involved in this decision so they will feel comfortable the day of.

I found a few I like and one I REALLY like that goes well with my dress, the venue, and the vibe. Only thing is, everyone likes another option better (they would all get the same dress, but the top is customizable). My biggest fear is being a "bridezilla" and inconsiderate to them, but at the same time, I have a vision in my head and this first dress fits perfectly. Is it okay to "pull rank", or is that just the worst thing I could do?

I would let them choose the dress style they like best, as your closest friends should feel comfortable and confident in what they wear on your wedding day. Especially if they are each paying for their own dresses, I would let them choose the specific style.

I think if you had found the “perfect” dress first and just presented that as the only option, it would have been fine. However, since you have already extended the option of allowing them to choose, I don’t think it would be in good taste to take that back now. I would just let them choose the dress they all like the most, and feel the most comfortable in.
