Bridesmaid dresses with Ankle boots!

Rachel, on January 3, 2018 at 1:18 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

Has anyone done this for their wedding that could post pictures?

I thought a short knee length burgundy dress with black ankle boots would look cute, but I cant find any pictures of bridesmaids doing this.

This is the kind of boot

If you require a specific shoe like that, it's your responsibility to pay for them, just so you're aware. Any required accessories should be paid for by the bride.

I would speak to your girls and see if they are okay with this first. September in most regions can be extremely hot even in the latter weeks and if I was a BM I wouldn't be okay with this since it would make me hot and my feet sweat.

Also if you are requiring a specific shoe you need to pay for them. If you are not doing that then just remember you can request something but you cannot force anyone to go out and buy or wear a certain show. For example - I'm just asking my girls to wear a pair of nude shoes they already own - any nude shoe (that isn't a sneaker)

I'd make sure they are all comfortable wearing that as well. That's a very specific trend and I wouldn't necessarily want to wear it, but to each his own. As PP said, if you're requiring it, you should buy it.

All my bridesmaids have black ankle boots like this already. That is what made me think of it.

Also the wedding is in Illinois. THe weather could be really hot or cold since the weather fluctuates here. But the wedding will be outside.

I personally don't like the look and would not be happy to wear it as a bridesmaid. I think it will draw attention to their feet and away from your gorgeous girls and also makes people look very short and stocky. However, if your BMs are all okay with it and you like the look then go for it.

I will echo pps though that if this is what you want, you need to pay for the shoes.

Do you have a plan to make your guests comfortable in varying weather? What about a rain plan?

We will move the ceremony to the reception area if it rains. The ceremony will only last a half hour and is ten minutes from the reception site. Reception site has two large rooms. One we are using for appetizers and drinks. Could easily use for ceremony if needed. And other for dinner and dancing.

I think you will regret this in the future. Also as a short person, ankle boots really aren't becoming with dresses, they really cut off the leg instead of elongating.

As a tall person with tiny ankles and large calves, ankle boots aren't attractive with dresses.
