Bridesmaid dresses to match groomsmen ties?

Miranda, on October 4, 2023 at 10:06 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8
I’ve been hearing that the bridesmaid dress should match the groomsmen tie. See I envisioned my girls would wear like a terracotta color dress and the boys would be in navy blue suits with sage ties. I attached flowers and such that I am going to use so you get an idea with it all. Should I stick to this? Or have my girls in sage too? Thanks! There’s no hard rule. Some people have them match, some have the bridesmaids in one of the wedding colors and the groomsmen in the other. Some just choose complementary colors. Your idea sounds beautiful!

That’s just an option some people choose but there is certainly no rule. Your colors work, and the greenery in the flowers bring it together.

That said, I’d recommend consult with your bridesmaids. After all they are the ones who will be paying for and keeping the dress.

Never heard of this. Usually bridesmaid dresses are chosen first. Some couples may match the ties to the dresses after the dresses are purchased, but most do not.

As for the dress colors, wait until everyone tries them on to decide. Terra cotta/rust/burnt orange (and a myriad of other names depending on the manufacturer) is a difficult color to wear. If someone is warm toned (look good in warm colors and gold , and have green veins on the inner arm) they look good in warm colors such as terra cotta, and they cannot wear cool colors without looking washed out and sickly. The opposite is true of people who are cool toned (and look good in cool colors such as the blue family and silver with blue veins on the inner arm) and they cannot wear warm colors.

I think that would look beautiful! It’s your wedding, it really doesn’t matter what is “trendy” in my opinion! ♥️

@Wedding Attire basketball stars Both colors are quite pleasing. Both options would have an aesthetically pleasing appearance.
