Bridesmaid Dresses... the drama.

I fell in love with a pale pink bridesmaid color - somewhere between pink and peach; like a pale coral. Bridesmaids worry it will be too pale for their pale complexion. I can't find another color I like... I want it soft. My fiance agreed to the color but he's thinking they will all look pale too....

I fell in love with a pale pink bridesmaid color - somewhere between pink and peach; like a pale coral. Bridesmaids worry it will be too pale for their pale complexion. I can't find another color I like... I want it soft. My fiance agreed to the color but he's thinking they will all look pale too. He's amazing - if I said I want it, he'd be fine with it.... But, no one being 100% is weighing on me. On top of it, the bridesmaids are all in different states. So, I need an online solution or to find one here and have them call in measurements. I'm letting them pick their own style... It's on me for the color. My girls are wild and you have no idea what telling them to pick would leave me with ... lol!

Help a stressed out bride with ideas? Vendors, colors, online sites... please help....

The right blush and bronzer are the trick to pulling off soft colors like that. Give them a cute blush/bronzer kit as a gift and call it a day, bc your color choice sounds gorgeous!

Pastels are very hard for most people to pull off, the consultant I worked with for my bridesmaids even said that

Actually I loved this color as well but I didnt want to wash my girls out either. I do agree its definitely not good for all skin types... but if it's what YOU want that's what matters. My colors were coral, navy and grey/silver. Girls in navy guys in grey and then accenting with coral.

Some of my girls got there dresses on jjhouse they have a lot of different color options. I say if you love the color go with it or have the girls try on a dress in that color to show you how it looks on there skin. You might change your mind.

Go with variations of the shade and let them pick their own dresses with passing it by you first. All the rage now days anyway

I think it’s nice that you want to be considerate while selecting your bridesmaids dress color. I just want to mention in the dozen or so weddings I’ve been in, I’ve never been asked if I liked the color of the dress and I would never expect to even get a choice. I think if you just choose the color that you want and don’t ask them what they think they will likely go along with it. Hell its pale coral, not puke green. I say just go for it and let them pick the style by using on of the retailers mentioned in the previous comments.

I had a color in mind and a color palate. My bff is my only bridesmaid/ maid of honor so i said, just pick a dress in this color scheme... any dress ... buuuut she also didn’t like the washed out mauves or champagne tones and kept finding jewel tone dress options online... it ended up being kind of a funny ordeal... i wish i would have just asked... sleeved or no sleeves and picked the dress. She ended up with a cheap burgundy dress that wasn’t at all what i had in mind. But she likes it and it will look great and be fine.

Haha, you could send them all a puke green dress pic and see what they say, then maybe they’ll be happy with the coral! 🤣

Yes! My friend was in her one brothers' wedding and she lives across state from her family now. The bride got samples from here, and the bridesmaids were able to choose what dresses they wanted in the same color/length/material (if that's what you're also going for), and they were able to put in their measurements for better sizing.
Also you can return them within 2 weeks (i was told) if they end up not being what you/they like!

If you like that color go for it. I would suggest maybe have a shawl for them in a different color that way they don't feel concern about pale complexion.

I got a cantaloupe color that comes out much lighter in person. It was a light collar. My MOH is states away and so I just had them pick a style on this color chiffon. My MOH picked hers out online then just emailed them her measurements. Thought our colors might be similar. I dont this will wash anyone out.

I'm quite pale myself, I dont think the peach colors look bad at all! These were me as a MOH last summer and me trying on a dress. The MOH dress was from amazon.

I think if you like the color than you should go with it! At the end of the day, it is your wedding and they will be ok. As for picking the style of the dress, if you are concerned about what dresses they might pick, could you maybe pick out 10 dresses you like and then let them pick between those?

So here’s a pale pink the beginning of July with some girls with no tans. Did I love the color, not for me. Was it a color the bride loved, absolutely! It was honestly better than I originally thought it would be and it did not wash us out as much as I thought it would.

I would choose the color you want. It’s your day! They’ll look great in anything... and remember that a good photographer will edit the photos if anyone looks washed out in certain shots. Do what you want! Azazie is great Smiley smile

I find their behavior entitled, to be blunt. Unless I was being asked to wear lime green dress with hot pink stripes, I would say sure and slap on that dress. I am sorry they are hassling you.

Reason #37 why I had my two college age sons as my attendants, lol! They had to listen to their mom!! Smiley smile

I suggest a Spray tan if they feel pale.

Meh. I'm extremely pale and my best friend picked a really pale pink for my MOH dress, and I looked great. I was worried I'd look bad, but the lip color and my hair color really evened everything out. I really liked how I looked in the dress when the pictures came out.
Even though I was worried about how I'd look, I didn't say anything to my best friend because it was HER wedding. She picked a flattering style, and even if the color wasn't originally to my liking, it was a color in her wedding palette. I wasn't going to demand she change her entire wedding scheme so I could wear a color I preferred. That'd be ridiculous. Also, I paid for the dress. That's part of the deal when you are in a wedding party, you accept the role knowing you're going to be buying a dress you'll never wear again.
If you like the color and it's already part of your palette, keep it. Your friends can suck it up and wear a dress for your special day in a color they don't love.
