Bridesmaid Dresses - Shipping experience w/ David's Bridal?

6/18 or 6/22? That seems like way late for DB. I got my MOH dress there, this was several years ago, and it only took 4 weeks. You could pay for rush shipping but you may be paying for something you don't need. I just am really surprised it would take them so long to get a BM dress to the store.

Both my daughters had their BM's order from DB's and the dresses came in pretty quickly - like less than 2 weeks. They were told much longer. I don't believe either style was considered a special order though (one was from the Vera Wang White Collection, the other was an Oleg Casini). Just a tip - DB often does coupons worth $40 from time to time. My daughters both used coupons and got their dresses on sale.

Usually when it says it's a special order it means they actually have to make the dresses. Those dates are the absolute latest that they will come but also could come earlier. Maybe call customer service and see if they can give you some more info.

That's almost 4 months of production time. That doesn't seem right, even for a special order color. Did they give you the option of expedited shipping or they just flat out said the earliest the dresses could come in is 6/18-6/22? If there's no color in stock that's close or that you like besides this one, I would ask them ASAP what kind of rush services you could pay for to cut some of that time down.

That would make me way too nervous to have the BMs dresses potentially arrive a week before the wedding (barring any last minute production or shipping delays...)

I ordered a David’s Bridal bridesmaid dress for a wedding I’m in in June. I ordered it February 9th and it said it was special order and would ship May 4th. I got an email last week that it has already shipped and will be arriving this week.

My sister ordered a dress online from DB and it arrived in a couple of weeks. My wedding dress from there also arrived waaay before the promised time.

Hi- I am not a manager of a DB but a stylist- 4 months is not uncommon for special order dresses. Especially Vera Wang. My suggestion would be to find a similar style in DB brand and that may cut the time off a bit. The dates given are the WORST case senerio it’s true, but I wouldn’t chance it!

Thank you everyone! My bridesmaids were not given the option to "rush" this special order (the option was grayed out). I will call customer service to see if there is anything else I can do. Thanks everyone for your response/advice!!

I got my BM dress for a June wedding after a couple weeks. I know that they ship differently depending on what is in stock. Some colors are more common for dresses and therefore in stock more than others, same with styles of dress. But you can always talk to customer service to see if there is a way to see if there would be sooner arrival of the dress(es).

I was in a wedding last year and it took 5 months to get my bridesmaid dress from DB. One of the BM got hers in 3 weeks and the other in 2 months.

All my girls and myself ordered from there and we were given a crazy date and they all came in within 4 weeks. But my FH’s groomsmaid never ordered and her expected date is cutting it really close and they said they can’t make any promises because this is their busy season! I’ll keep my fingers crossed for both of us!

My sister ordered hers today - white by Vera wang but in blush. Said will be delivered 3/7. My maid of honor ordered hers and it came within 3 weeks

My sister in law whos getting married in may we ordered out dresses end of nov 2017 and got them 1.5 weeks later. make sure they actually have it shipped to you.4 out of 6 of us had to call and make sure they were shipping to the right place. they had it at the store for days and when they called they called the bride instead of the bridesmaid even though each of made sure they had our numbers tp call. i personally not of fan of them i went with spybaby for my upcoming wedding.

I'm wondering if I should take a chance on this one... my wedding is really soon but it seems like they ship way earlier than indicated.

I got my wedding dress in 2 weeks. My bridesmaids all got their dresses in 1 week.

On the other hand... I was the MOH for my best friend June 2017. I had to special order my dress and I ordered it the beginning of Jan and did not get it till the last week of May... So it really just depends. I think sometimes they get it done sooner but sometimes it takes the whole time.

Hi Ghezelle, I know I’m a year later but how close to that deadline date did the dresses come to your bridesmaids? I was quoted 16 weeks too and it is cutting it close (like 3 days before the wedding)

Ours took 2-3 weeks for each of our girls. But ours were the special occasion dresses.

Did your dresses come in on time Ghezelle and Courtney? I am in the same situation with my dress. It will be here the week before the wedding which is too close for comfort! wondering what the odds are that it will come in early.
