Bridesmaid dresses in red velvet

Kayleah, on July 22, 2016 at 9:48 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8

Hey everyone! So our wedding is in November and I'm pretty set on have my girls (only 2 of them) wear red velvet dresses. There's a few online, but not many. Obviously the season doesn't help. Will fall/winter styles be in stores soon in order to have more choices? Any suggestions of stores/websites to check? My one girl ordered a dress we both LOVED from ASOS(pictured below) but she needs the size up, and it's out of stock. Sigh. I'm not set on a certain style, both girls plan to wear different styles anyway. Any ideas?

I would help but I'm over here thinking about red velvet cake

ETA- I think you're going to have a difficult time finding dresses in velvet since that is not a normal material for bridesmaids dresses.

That dress is BAD (as in good)! Any chance of them getting more in stock before your big day? I would try Rent the Runway to see if they might have something that your girls could rent to wear. They have big name designers and you pay a fraction of the cost . You can even call and speak to someone in their wedding department. Also, if you haven't already, do a Google search. You'd be surprised what you could find that way. Also do a search on Pinterest. Again, you'd be surprised what you can find. I'm a November bride as well, I opted for a navy and light pink dress, in a silk like material. Good luck!

Unfortunately I have no advise to give. I think it might be hard to find them not because of the season but because most designers do not work in velvet any more. Good Luck!!

Please don't do velvet unless your BMs are all under a size 6. Velvet is not a forgiving material and must be fit perfectly. Also, in that style, it will show every lump and bump.

I would assume that stores will start carrying their fall / winter collections here soon. With that being said though, I am not sure velvet is a popular fabric right now. So it might be harder to come by. That dress she purchased is gorgeous though!

That's beautiful! Although it's more of a burgundy/maroon color. When you said red I had visions of bad 90s Christmas dresses from my childhood lol
