Bridesmaid Dresses - Different States

Jeanette, on April 3, 2017 at 1:03 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 27

Hey all! I'm sure there are some of you out there who have bridesmaids who live in different states (Mine range from Philadelphia, Baltimore, and VIrginia). Any stores (besides David's Bridal - cause I know I can do this there) that have a good selection and have the same brands of dresses in stock so my friends don't have to drive all over the world for fittings and stuff? I am also not really feeling the online options because I know my bridesmaids would hate not being about to try a bunch on. Thanks for the info!!!

    Try Macy's, Dillard's, or Nordstrom.

Unfortunately there's a reason DB is so popular.

Even I used them, and I hate them. :/

I am getting married in WI and I live in TX. All but two bridesmaids live in WI. They all got their dresses from Davids Bridal and picked quick ship options or something off the rack. Since your wedding is not until December you may have plenty of time to order the dresses. They can probably try them on in their store in a different color and just order it. DB worked wonders for me and my girls. However, I am not getting alterations done there- soooo expensive

Not sure what part of Virginia they're in, but BHLDN has physical stores (they're typically located inside Anthropologie) in Philadelphia and Washington, DC.

With my BM, those who were comfortable ordering from BHLDN online did so, but those who wanted to try things on went to the physical stores (my bridesmaids live in NYC, Atlanta, and Chicago, and I live in the UK, so we had to endure a similar process).

I found my bridesmaid dresses on Etsy! The seller custom makes them, so the girls will not need to go try them on or get them altered. They were also less than $100 Smiley smile

I went to a local bridal store in Atlanta and my BM (all were out of state) sent their measurements to the store and they ordered the dresses for the girls. They were sent to their houses and the girls had them altered wherever they chose. It was pretty simple too

Same boat. I tried Bella Bridesmaid, but they're all independently owned and operated. I had visited one in TX first but tried to take the BP to one in NC- I couldn't because I had already visited a different store. Anyways that sucked, so unfortunately I went with Davids Bridal, it was just the easiest.

I second the suggestion of Bella Bridesmaids! That's where my bridesmaids ordered their dresses from!

None of my bridesmaids live in the same states. I asked them to find a Mori Lee dress they liked and they were each able to find the same style in a bridal salon near them. I coordinated ordering them all from the same location so they were ordered from the same lot and would no no color variations.

Mine were from AZ, TX, PA, and NY. We went with Alfred Angelo, which has stand alone stores and is carried in various bridal salons. You can check to make sure they have a location/retailer in each of your BMs' cities on their website. I also only specified color and fabric type (and they voted on long vs short) and let them pick their own dress styles so there would be less of a need to coordinate each time they went shopping and so everyone would be able to wear a dress they found comfortable.

Pick a dress and then look online what bridal stores carry that brand in their areas. I don't think it will be a problem finding a store in their areas.

Try Alfred Angelo. I like them way better than DB. In my opinion the quality of the dress is better with similar pricing to DB. Good Luck

I went to a local shop and found a collection that I liked then searched the areas that my BM lived in for shops that carried that collection so each could go into their local shop and try on a few styles in the same collection. I told them they could choose any dress in the collection as long as they where in the same color which I know will be slightly different depending on the fabric they choose but I am fine with that as well.

I picked a designer (Bill Levkhoff) and let my bridesmaids choose the style they wanted. We are scattered in different states too! My bridesmaids just went to their own local stores to try styles on.

I hope I'm not the only one... but I found a dress I loved on sale (BHLDN) and asked my bridesmaids what sizes they wanted me to order based off the size chart. Then we ordered them... I know it doesn't fix your dilemma, but it was easy.

I did a bridesmaid's appointment at my bridal salon immediately following my gown appointment. They sort of merged into each other and we all--except my very pregnant MoH--got to play dress-up. The four ladies in my WP (MoH and three maids) all live in different states; though two of those are in the same metro area. The bridesmaid who lives really far away flew in for the weekend just for fun and the other, plus my MoH, will give their measurements to my salon, who will have the dresses shipped to them when they come in.
