Bridesmaid Dresses: Birdy Grey vs. Azazie?

I have never ordered from Birdy Grey but I will do a commercial for azazie any day. Generally they run big but are good quality, beautiful, fast shipping, and you can do the at-home try-on. People complain the try-on is $10 but I don’t think $10 is a big deal at all to make sure you’re ordering the right size and you like the color and style.

We ordered from Azazie and had a wonderful experience. I had a friend who used Birdy Grey and had no complaints. I checked our their site but noticed the same thing about them having fewer options.

Daughter had an EXCELLENT experience with Azazie for her five BMs located all over the country. The dresses were high quality and a great price, especially compared with David's. Four of her five did custom sizing, so they had minimal to no alterations. They looked beautiful and we received lots of compliments about how they looked.

I think you'll be hard pressed to find anything bad on this forum about Azazie.

I was a bridesmaid in a wedding this fall and my dress was from Birdy Grey. I had a great experience and I follow them on Instagram and know they’re constantly getting new styles & colors. And it’s tough to beat the price!

So far the three out of four bridesmaids who have their dresses have been happy with them and the pics they've sent me are gorgeous! They did the custom sizing, and so far, they all fit just right!

Erm, adding that I used Azazie!

I am using Azazie for my wedding and have used it for 2 wedding I have been it. It is the best! Super easy, lots of options, samples to try on, great quality! I am using Bird Grey in a wedding that I am in next fall. I find it annoying that I can't try on the dresses before I buy them. I can't speak to the quality yet.

I ordered from Azazie as a BM and the options were awesome, they got here fast, and the quality was great.

I personally am not a fan of online only ordering (I never order clothes online that I can't return, i like to try on). Azazie does charge you $10 to try on 3 styles, but at least I got to try on what I thought I liked before I ordered.

Thanks for the response! I'm hoping maybe they're selling out all their old Birdy Grey stock and then releasing more options in the new year, and we can make the decision then.

Thank you for your response! I didn't know they had a custom sizing option either - how perfect! Since the bridesmaids lived across the country, did you order them in the same order or have them order individually? I've heard that you should order them at the same time to ensure they're from the same dye batch and are the same shade.

I saw that as well, and they charge you for exchanges and/or restocking fees. I'm nervous to have bridesmaids order and realize the fit is funny or it's not their style and then have to pay to return it. Thanks for your response!

Thanks so much! Can you say that the sizing was accurate with online sizing? A few people responded with custom sizing, but maybe I would suggest bridesmaids to try on a few options before doing custom sizing for "the one".

Daughter's BMs ordered them in the same 24 hour window, but I've read many posts that it does not matter.

Also, for dresses ordered with custom-sizing, Azazie will reimburse for additional needed alterations up to a limit (for daughter's BMs, I think it was up to $50). The at home try-on program for $10 a dress (including shipping both ways) is a great way to calm any concerns about ordering online and confirm sizing. The dresses come nicely packaged in a garment bag and a sturdy carton. Azazie makes it REALLY hard not to like the dresses and excellent customer service. Good luck! (We found the standard size dresses are a little large compared with typical store sizes. A typical size 10 body fit very comfortably in an Azazie size 8, in our experience.)

Great! When daughter first talked about using an online retailer for the BMs' dresses, I had my doubts, but the dresses were awesome and the process was so easy. We were very impressed! Good luck!

For what it's worth, they also had a great experience with The Black Tux, an online retailer, for the GMs suits.... It's a great time to plan a wedding! LOL!

I did not do custom sizing because I tried on a couple dresses in my regular dress size and they fit fine! I'm a pretty standard size 12. There were 10 BM's I think, and there were only 2 of us who did standard sizing - everyone else did custom just to ensure no alterations. I don't think anyone ended up need alterations!
