Bridesmaid Dresses and difficult bridesmaids. /rant

Lauren, on December 8, 2016 at 3:33 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9

First of all....my relationship with the maid of honor has declined over the past year....mainly due to her boyfriend and my FH getting into an argument. We wanted to just push it all aside so we said we wanted him as a groomsman anyway and he agreed but has since decided to not be in the wedding or attend it. The maid of honor is barely speaking to me and hasn't really participated in any planning. She didn't even want to try on dresses because one of my friends was there. So, this has been stressful.

Aside from that, each dress I pick out for them, someone has a problem with. One doesn't like strapless, One doesn't like straps, two can't afford more than 60-80 dollars and I am helping them pay for theirs...but it seems like there is something wrong with every dress I pick. When I ask what they want to wear, they say "I don't care." I had a dress everyone agreed on at target.com and target told me today they are sold out.

I am losing my mind. Any advice?

Tell them a color, fabric and length and let them pick their own styles. If they don't find one in time, they can attend as guests.

Just pick a colour and let them pick their own dresses for a mismatched look. That way they can buy something they like that's in their budget.

Imma going to leave this here:

    Bridesmaids and MOH duties: none

They purchase attire, show up on wedding day in said attire, in relatively good spirits, pose for pictures. END OF LIST.

Give them a style and a color/palette and let them buy what they want, where they want. It's just not worth losing your mind Smiley smile

She doesn't have to participate in any planning. Everyone else has the dress issue covered.

I agree Jessie. I wasn't expecting much, but I am a little sad that she didn't want to be part of the lunches and get togethers because her boyfriend doesn't like my fiance anymore. I have always been the type of person that puts issues aside for family events, especially since we would prefer he be there too! I guess it's just saddening more than anything.

I like the ideas about the letting them choose what dress they like as long as it matches the color. That's awesome. I appreciate all the input guys.

Everyone is really saying it. Tell them the color and if you want it long or short like if you want them to be symmetrical or whatever. I had a coworker in a bridal party. Their requirement was a black dress. That was it

All I read is that your MOH hasn't helped you plan.

    That's not her job.

If your wedding is really in March, they would probably get on finding a dress. Especially if it has to be ordered.
