Bridesmaid Dresses & Accessories

I made the stupid mistake of wanting all of the girls in the same dress. It made it so much more difficult to find a dress and ended up not being worth the headache because a week before the wedding my sister, who was my maid of honor, messaged me that she never liked the dress that I picked, but she didn't tell me this while we were shopping because she was tired of dress shopping. She hated it so much she didn't want to be photographed even during the ceremony and wanted to change immediately after. I ended up going to David's Bridal and buying a dress in a different style in her size in the same color, length, and fabric. I had it shipped to her overnight and the seamstress was able to alter it within a day. I wish my sister would've have been honest about her feelings.

As for shoes and accessories, I just asked the girls to wear silver shoes. The style didn't matter because I wanted them to be comfortable and you couldn't really see their shoes anyways because the dresses were long. Accessories were completely up to them. I just asked that they didn't wear anything crazy.

I am letting my bridal party pick their own dresses, and will be paying for them. As far as jewelry, I have no rules or requests. Whatever they feel comfortable and confident in, I am all for! Same with hair and make up. I will be paying for it, but I am not dictating any sort of look or style. I just want my best friends to feel great at our wedding!

I picked my bridesmaids colors, but I let them pick their own dress, shoes, accessories, and hair/makeup styles! So my girls had free range for sure!

I am letting them pick whatever hair style and makeup they want. I just would like to keep things fairly uniform. So I'm getting them accessories but they don't have to wear them. I don't want anyone being uncomfortable

My bridesmaids have the same exact dress. I gave them a color (navy) and asked what they liked. I stumbled upon a dress that I loved and sent it to each of them and they all ended up LOVING it and purchased it online.


I sent them pictures of shoes as well and they all voted on one pair. I purchased the shoes for them all. My 2 MOH still haven't found their dress but they will wear the same one but different from the bridesmaids. They can wear whatever they want for accessories.

I gave them a few colors and they can pick literally anything in those colors. It's a spring wedding so short or long styles would both fit well. One of them is wearing a suit and the others chose long dresses. They can pick whatever shoes and accessories they want. I'm paying for their hair and makeup if they want it.

I picked the color and general length for the dresses, and let each bridesmaid pick out whatever dress they liked best! I bought their shoes for them. I am letting them decide on any jewelry that they want to wear. Hair and makeup is also totally up to them on what they want to do.

My girls are all wearing different style dresses The only criteria: color, long length, and mesh or chiffon fabric. My 2 MOH will have gold dresses and my 4 bridesmaids will have a dark coral dresses.

Let them pick any accessories they want

When it came to accessories i gave them jewelry as gifts- there wasn't any expectation of them actually needing to wear it on the day of. so i didn't really care what they wore. as for shoes they all decided on the same kind of color, i didn't have a preference since all their gowns were long you don't even see the shoes. i also had let them decide on their own dress as long as it was in the color realm i wanted

I have 3 girls. I sent them all a list of 10ish dresses separately and asked them for their top choices. They all choose the same dress in their top two picks so I told everyone to get that one. It was either that one (chiffon) or another velvet one and because of the two drastically different fabrics I didn’t want them to mix and match that. But I let them all choose separate so that one didn’t feel pressured to choose and I got lucky that they all loved the one! I’m not sure I’ll care about shoes, as long as it’s just like a normal dress shoe and not a boot or converse, and silver jewelry. Idc what their hair or makeup is. I bought them all black fur shawls since we are having a November wedding in case it’s cold. I am hoping I am being a reasonable and easy bride!
