Bridesmaid dress lace

Randi, on November 17, 2019 at 8:11 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5
The dresses I’ve picked out for my girls are absolutely beautiful, I love them. The lace detail matches my dress almost perfectly, BUT. The upper part (idk what the material is called) irritates my soon to be SIL skin.

Is there anything I can do to help that? She didn’t complain about it I just noticed it not long after she put it on

I feel for you two. I tried on a wedding dress with a similar illusion neckline and it irritated my skin so so much in the few moments I had it on. The sales people tried to sell me that they could fix it in alterations but I didn’t buy that because it was just so uncomfortable to me.
If it’s mesh in the neckline I don’t think you can do much to help with the irritation without changing the look of the dress. If she really thinks she’ll be ok in that dress all day and not uncomfortable, you could try getting airbrush makeup on her chest to help mask the redness.

I’m not sure there’s anything you could do about it. Azazie has a similar dress, although longer, without the illusion mesh.

    Hey Randi!

As the pp’s mentioned, there may not be a solution without changing the look of the dress. If you didn’t mind covering the illusion neckline, a seamstress may be able to add material under the mesh so that it actually doesn’t come into contact with her skin? You could try to get material that matches (as best possible) to her skin tone so that it isn’t too obvious and still looks similar to the other BMs

You can have a liner put in so that the material isn't touching her skin. That's usually an easy alteration. Just reach out to the dress designer and ask how much it would be to get more of that dress fabric so that it matches.
