Bridesmaid dress color dilemma

Kels, on August 28, 2016 at 4:03 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 21

So my color scheme for the wedding is like a rose pink, ivory and gold. I want to have the girls in like a rose pink. Which oddly enough has been a hard color to find at Davids Bridal or Alfred Angelo. I haven't gone in person yet (as I sill have lots of time) but have been browsing quite a bit online. The closest color I can find without looking too close to white is attached. However two of my girls have expressed concern that they may look "washed out" and "naked" standing up at the alter. Is this something you could see happening? I guess I thought it was pink enough that it wouldn't look like a nude.

Other than that it would either be a bright light pink, hot pink or even a coral. None of which would come close to matching the color scheme

I would say to check them out in person. I has chosen a color online and it looked very different in the store.

Look at them in persons. I would look washed out in that color. And if two of them said it, they might be on to something!

Blarg, a dress that shade would make me look super pale and yellowish.

See them in person. My color is cornflower blue, and the cornflower blue that David's has online looks perfect. However when you see it in person, my color is actually what DB calls "ice blue". There's really no point in searching online unless you're going to buy online

If you still can't find the color you like, why not have them wear gold with rose pink accessories?

One of my colors is also rose pink, we're using "ballet" from David's Bridal. I thought it might be too pink but after seeing it in person it was perfect. You can order swatches from them for a $1 and see it if you don't feel like going in person Smiley smile

This is one of the BMs dresses (they each have a different one) online it actually looks way too light. In person it is almost two shades darker. Just for reference

Ms MRose that is ballet. I ordered the swatches and thought ballet was perfect! But that is the color the dresses are showing up as online. Is it more like the swatch in person?

@Kels hi date twin! I would definitely check out the dresses in person because color and even fabric don't always translate well in the online pictures. Also see if the girls could come to see the color in person to see if it does wash them out.

Hey date twin!!! I think I may just do that. I'm hoping the color is more true to the swatch then online

I looked at a dress online (MOH dress since she didn't like the BM dress) and it looked nothing like the real thing color wise. It's plum but online it was brighter and seemed to have more red in it. But the swatch was a better match, so I would go with what you see in person Smiley smile

@ kels the swatch and in person are almost identical to online but not as pinkish, it's more dusty to me. I was far more pleased with it in person than I thought I would be.

Azazie has a beautiful color called dusty rose that might suit your color scheme.

Also, did you see the White by Vera Wang collection at David's Bridal? They have a color called Blush and they also have Ballet. Both very delicate pinks!

That's the color I'm looking into for my bridesmaids and one of them had the same feedback. I think we'll have to see it in person on them to really judge. Hopefully it compliments all of them so that you don't have to reconsider your color
