Bridesmaid colors?

Nicole, on May 21, 2019 at 11:12 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 6

Hey ladies!

I am wearing a very light blue wedding dress. It will be February 29, 2020, so the weather will be cold. I like the look of the mismatched bridesmaid dresses, but I am stuck on what colors to pick for the bridesmaid. My original intention was to have jewel tone in my bridesmaid's Harry Potter house colors but now that I've decided on a light blue dress I think that I need to change my focus so that it doesn't look like a mess. Any ideas on a color palette or complimentary colors? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

What about putting the girls in pale purples or pale greens? You could also out them in white/ivory/champagne. I feel like you have lots of options.

With light blue, you can have your maids in dark blue, light yellow, light peach, and lavender. Of course you can do pink, but I personally think that would make it look like a baby shower (baby blue and baby pink). You could ombré the colors, going from your light blue out into darker shades... your maid of honor one shade darker than you, the next maid one shade dark than her, etc.

Do you have a photo of your wedding dress, even if it is just from the designers website? The problem is that there are sssooooooo many colors that would compliment a light blue dress. Personally speaking, the colors that first popped into my mind when I read your post were darker colors. I really like the contrast between light and dark. Do you have an idea of what color palette you want to go with for the rest of your wedding décor? It's not every one's cup of tea, but I really like the way dark teal looks. Here is a photo I got from Google Images, though the bride is in white, you can get the general idea.

Attached is the dress sketch. I really like the teal option or doing an ombre of blue from dark to light.

Nice dress! Ombré in shades of blue would look really cool! I’d do that. Other option is to use cool, pale colors like lavender, dusty blue etc.
