Bridesmaid Bouquets?

NextChapterReady, on June 5, 2019 at 10:42 AM Posted in Planning 0 16

So I just got all of the information from the florist for my bouquets and altar arrangements. They let me know that they are including vases for the bridesmaid bouquets so they can be displayed on the head table. I love this idea, but we are having the church flowers delivered to my hotel, then riding in a limo to the church. Church and reception are in different locations. So the question is, do my bridesmaids hold their bouquets in the vase for the limo ride over and then in the limo ride to the reception? How does this work? I'm really struggling to figure out the best way!

Can’t they just hold the bouquets and have the vases delivered to the reception space with the rest of the flowers?

The vases should be delivered to the reception space with all the other reception flowers. When the bridesmaids arrive for the reception, they'll put their bouquets in the vases.

Can they deliver the vases in a different box and someone can take it to the reception space?

I am only having ceremony flowers. There are no reception flowers and no delivery to the reception space so that's the problem

I'm not having reception flowers done by the florist so there is no reception delivery. So that's the issue!

So just take the vases with you to the reception. I don’t think this is a huge deal, it’s just a vase.

That might be a possibility. The problem is I'm not having the florist do the reception flowers so there is no delivery to the reception space. I guess I might potentially be able to have someone bring them to the reception space. It might be tight. My ceremony begins at 1:30 30 minutes from the reception space and the reception venue doesn't open until noon :/

Well it's actually 9 vases and 14 people going in a limo from hotel to church to park to reception so i'm a little worried about the logistics!

Could you just leave the vases in a box in the limo?

That might work. I know it'll be a tight fit for a 14 person limo to have 14 people plus all that stuff. But yeah that might work!

I'm trying to find the least complicated way to go about this, since the norm (having them delivered with reception flowers) isn't available :/ It just seems like a hassle no matter what! haha

I’d put them in a padded box in the trunk of the limo and get them out when you get to the reception. We are doing similar things with the bridesmaids bouquets, but just minus the vases. We will arrange them on our sweetheart table in like a half circle in the front.

Ah! The limo trunk!!! Haha THANK YOU! This was what I was missing. That would work so much better. This is why I love wedding wire Smiley smile I appreciate your response bc that literally makes the most sense (and they will be wrapped in cellophane as well).

Why can't you just pick up the vases yourself from the florist and bring them to the venue like the day before or for the rehearsal? I am sure you have other decor that needs to be dropped off to your reception space...

The florist will only provide the flower order the day of. I can't get any of the items ahead of time, as they are rentals and you only get them for a 48 hour period. But someone recommended the limo trunk, which I think I'm going to go with!

Agreed!! An open padded box in the trunk is easiest! I would even leave the vases in the box exactly as they are delivered, and have your bridesmaids just grab and then put back their bouquets as needed.

And don't forget to have a hand towel nearby - you'll need to dry the stems of the bouquets so they don't leave wet splotches on everyone's dresses!
