Bridesmaid bouquet as centerpieces?

Laura, on December 30, 2019 at 4:43 PM Posted in Style and Décor 1 7

Has anyone done this and how did it look? What about people gathering into the venue before the bridal party - and the tables didn't have their center pieces yet? Thoughts?

We'll be doing this - some tables will have the bouquets and a few candles. Saves us money! If people comment, they don't understand the price of decor. I say do it and don't worry about the aesthetics.

My florist advised against this. She actually suggested having fewer bridesmaids to save money vs. repurposing bridesmaid bouquets as centerpieces. 😳 Instead she used the bridesmaid bouquets in vases to decorate other areas... like a fireplace mantel, gift table, etc.

My SIL didn't use ours as centre pieces but as additional flowers on the fireplace mantel and guest book table. We just made sure us bridesmaids entered the rooms first and led the charge. Smiley xd But be sure to test it ahead of time with the vases. Actually, I'm hoping to use my bouquet on our sweetheart table.

I will have 4 bouquets between myself and the bridesmaids. The vases will be on the head table(s) -head table is 3 tables long to accommodate everyone. we will take our bouquets from there for the ceremony and likely have them put back during social hour while the guests are still outside. I think the simplest thing will be to have the vase or whatever is holding it there and be able to put them into it when you get back. Also if you think that your guests will be there before you get the flowers in, make sure each attendant with a bouquet knows where their flowers are going when they get there.

As long as the BMs are okay with it, that sounds like a great plan Smiley smile

We'll be using ours as decoration too; I think people know that weddings cost *a lot* and honestly if having a centerpiece finished off with a bridesmaid bouquet offends them that much, I'm not going to be bothered by it! Hopefully the event as a whole is fun and happy and exciting and they will forget about us reusing flowers.

I "re-purposed" our bouquets as decorations (in windows and on the gifts/cards table) after the ceremony, but didn't use them for centerpieces because I was also worried about the logistics of depositing them / having naked tables until we finished up with pictures, etc.

Depending how many bridesmaids you have and if you plan to have a main table, maybe use them for your table so it's an easy transition? Our bridal party was happy to have vases to set their bouquets in so they didn't have to try to find somewhere to stash them while they ate/danced.
