Bridesmaid and moh gifts?

Mei, on February 16, 2020 at 11:34 PM Posted in Planning 0 5
Hi everyone!

So I am getting married next year and I’ve never been a party of a bridal party before....
I was wondering what some of y’all’s best and worst bridesmaid/MOH gifts were.
And if I have to get both a proposal gift (like the gift box “will you be my bridesmaid/MOH”) and a gift for the bridesmaid & MOH after the wedding.
Thank you !

A proposal box isn’t necessary but that’s something I wish I did for mine because it’s cute aha

Worst would be anything labeled with the title (bridesmaid, maid of honor, etc). Those items are directly donated to the Goodwill. Best items are ones that are personalized to me; ex. a necklace with my initial and a pearl. I’m not a huge jewelry person, but when I do wear it, I like it minimal and knowing that, the bride bought something smaller for me. Shopping like it’s their birthday will make gift giving much more personal and appreciated, since you’re treating your girls as individuals.

I have never been a bridesmaid but I can tell you what I’m getting my girls if that helps! PJs for the day of(although I don’t count this as a gift since it’s more of a prop for pictures lol), a tote bag with their name, tumbler with their name, makeup bag with their name, a bath and body works candle, and Victoria’s Secret pink sweatpants. I also got everything in their favorite color/style so it’s catered more towards them! Agree with PP to not get anything with bridesmaid on it. Even the pjs I bought them only have their initials so they can use them after the wedding. I thought about jewelry but some of the girls are very picky so I just stuck to more practical items that many people get use out of. I just tried to think what I would like as a gift and did that! I hope this helps!

You don't have to do a proposal box, but I always think it's a sweet & festive touch. The worst gifts I have received include a cheap satin floral robe & a jeweled watch that didn't fit me. The best include a heartfelt handwritten letter from the bride & a nice cotton waffle print robe (and nothing that says "bridesmaid" or the wedding date on it). I think gift cards or covering costs of the wedding are also super great too.

My proposal was a really cute card. Two of my friends I got to hand in person, I took a trip to an cabin and invited them and gave them the card to read in front of a beautiful pond on the property, they were invited to stay with me for free at the cabin.

I am doing my Wedding Shower and Girls Weekend all in 1 weekend since my wedding party are all from out of town. I am getting the girls a cute lipstick gift for coming, asking them their favorite shade and then purchasing and wrapping it up! Saw the idea on someone's youtube channel. Depending on my finances, I might pay for some other things when we are out and about for our weekend like our high tea lunch.

For the wedding at the beach: custom beach tote filled with a Turkish beach Towel, custom personalized tumbler with their name on it, and might throw something else in there. And they are getting a pendant necklace to keep and wear on the wedding day.

I covered the price of half their bridesmaid dresses as an extra thank you for all their traveling.
