Brides with glasses

Julianne, on January 22, 2017 at 10:18 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 23

Future brides/husbands: for those of you who wear glasses on a daily basis, are any of you planning on wearing them at your wedding? I wear glasses and was thinking about how to do my make-up and still have it pop while wearing glasses or just not wear them at all. I worry about not being able to see or focus well enough to take pictures without them. I cannot wear contacts due to my eyes being very sensitive, so that's not an option.

I wear glasses too, and I'm actually going to be wearing contacts. I love bold eye looks makeup wise, and I just don't want the glare from my glasses to distract from the makeup or pop up in my pictures. My sister just went without them for photos, though, because she just can't handle contacts, but she didn't like the idea of wearing glasses on her wedding day

I'm going to wear glasses. I had thought about getting contacts...but I've tried a few years ago, and I just can't touch my eyes lol. And not wearing my glasses isn't an option because I'm so blind Smiley tongue so...I'll just have to work around them!

I have glasses for astigmatism. So wearing contacts is difficult for those of us with this ailment as it is. I had the bright idea that I wanted to get contacts for the wedding. Several months, several types of contact trials, lots of burning/red/blurry eyes, and $160 pair of glass (non disposable) contacts later, I wore them for that one day and have not touched them since. In hindsight I would have just worn my glasses and maybe taken them off for a few photos.

I'm wearing my glasses. Years ago, I always thought about getting contacts for my wedding, but now I can't imagine my face without glasses. My FH is also wearing his glasses.

The picture is from my trial. My make up is fairly natural, and I have false lashes on. I think glasses bring the attention to your eyes, so I don't think they'll detract from make up.

I liked this article, maybe it'll help: http://bridalmusings.com/2014/07/bespectacled-brides-rock-glasses-wedding-day/

Definitely consider getting lenses that do not reflect light. Also, maybe mention to your photographer to keep your glasses in mind, as you can get a shadow from them on your face, so they might want to change lighting or the positioning of the shot.

I'm taking some getting ready pictures with my glasses but I'll wear contacts the rest of the day. I wore contacts for like 10 years but when I graduated school and started working in an office starting at a computer all day they had to go. I still wear contacts occasionally or if I'm going out. I don't want the glare in pictures. FH will also be trying contacts for the first time.

I wear glasses everyday and have chosen to wear them for the ceremony and photos. Personally I feel my glasses are a part of me since I wear them everyday. I've also chosen to do a makeup-less wedding day for a similar reason. I totally understand not wanting to go without glasses. Personally i go cross eyed without them haha. Whatever makes you feel comfortable I say!

I wear glasses on a daily basis and I'm afraid of contacts, so I'll go without them for the day.

If you don't have them already, get non glare lenses. Lighting and posing can be tweaked to get rid of glare during formals. Candid moments won't allow for this but with non glare lenses, the chances of getting glass glare is a lot less.

I wear glasses almost every day. My eyes are very sensitive but I can wear contacts for one day and my eyes tolerate it so I will switch to contacts the day of the wedding. However if I couldn't I would just wear my glasses because I know I would end up squinting and glaring in all my pictures trying to see otherwise.

I have glasses and contacts. On my wedding day, I will be wearing my contacts. If you don't want to wear glasses and do have contacts, wear those so you can see. If not, I feel it would be best to see your special day clearly, so you can rock the glasses Smiley smile I think there are tutorials for pretty makeup ideas for glasses!

I also wear glasses everyday as well. I plan on wearing contacts the day of the wedding. I will start to wear them a couple months before the wedding to get my eyes used to contacts. I've worn contacts before but prefer my glasses as I work in front of a computer all day.

My FH wears glasses and to me he wouldn't be himself without the glasses on. He will have them on for our wedding. I like his glasses Smiley smile

I won't be wearing my glasses - I wear them at work and when driving but don't wear them around my house, so I'll still feel like me without them. If I wore them 100% of the time, I'd probably wear them for the wedding.

My fiancé is blind as a bat and can't see without his glasses, so he'll be wearing them. He was considering contacts and asked our eye doctor for a sample but they were uncomfortable so he decided to stick with the glasses. He is considering getting a new pair of frames - fancier than he usually would buy - to wear at the wedding.

I wear contacts generally but FH wears glasses. He has transition lenses but since his eyes didn't change this year I made him get the non transition lenses for our wedding. A week or two before our wedding he will go to his eye dr and they'll pop those babies in so I can see his eyes in our pictures.

I wear glasses but I'm really considering wearing contacts, that or at the very least getting new glasses (mine are really scratched up). I am very nervous about trying to wear contacts for the first time right at wedding time so we'll see, I'm also considering getting some clear frames or something like that. My vision isn't too terrible, so I may just try to get through the ceremony without them and then put them on for the reception

I'm buying contacts..Which reminds me that I have to budget for that! Many thanks for posting this!! I want my make up to show....

I think the best suggestion is taking them off for photos only so you're not squinting all day..
