Brides with a "Different" song to walk down the aisle to --

Emily, on June 21, 2016 at 4:44 PM Posted in Planning 0 6

For those of you who have or are going to use a different type of song to walk down the aisle to, what did you use? I'm more referring to if you used an 'upbeat' or faster song rather than a slower one. What did you use, how'd it work to walk slowly to? Was it difficult to not like run down the aisle?

I am looking at using Doo Wah Diddy by Manfred Mann -- We are getting married at a piece of conservation land that is dedicated in memory of my uncle and this song is special to me, and my family, because of him. Thought it'd be a nice way to add more of his memory to our day. I guess I'm just mostly worried about being able to refrain from running down the aisle and also people from my dad's side (split family, not the side of the uncle who's passed) & my FH's family thinking I'm NUTS!!!

Not sure yet. It definitely won't be a traditional wedding song though. Most likely upbeat as well.

Thanks! I fixed it! I must have originally started to use a word other than 'different' -

I'm not worried about my MOH/BM (we're only having the one on each side) 'running' down the aisle, I'm worried about myself, between nerves and the beat of the song.

Side note: I didn't mean literally running. Just at a pace much faster than is considered normal for a walk down the aisle.

We're doing an instrumental "Unchained Melody" done on an acoustic guitar (no lyrics). This is still slower.

I totally understand wanting to incorporate a sentimental song, but personally I feel that particular song would be better suited for after the ceremony as your processional song. I don't feel like it has a natural walking pace. Just my personal opinion.

I'm doing "All You Need Is Love" by The Beatles. I think the song you're choosing is nice, but might be better suited for the reception. Like @MrsB said, it's a little awkward to walk naturally to.

We're doing "Better Together" by Jack Johnson. It's our song, and I couldn't picture any other song for us.

I agree with Soon2BMrsB...maybe use it for the song after the ceremony to walk back down? Seems a little more upbeat. Then you wouldn't have to worry about walking pace.
