Brides who wore heels...

So I have my first fitting later today and still need to make a final decision about my shoes. I bought a gorgeous pair of badgley mischka roxy heels that seriously make me swoon. So I have my first fitting later today and still need to make a final decision about my shoes. I bought a gorgeous pair of badgley mischka roxy heels that seriously make me swoon. But they aren't very comfortable and a little pricy (I still have time to return). I also have a pair of betsey johnson sandals that are super comfy and cute but lacking any sort of wow factor. Anyone who wore heels wish they had gone with flats? Or vice versa? If my phone works I'll post pics of both.

@Jillian, they are 2 inch heels and the dress was hemmed to barely touch the ground when I'm wearing it. When I wear the keds it just glides along Smiley smile

I wore 6in platform heels. They were stunning and perfect and I really loved the look.

The problem was I was basically pulled into pictures all day so I was always in my heels.

I don't regret wearing them. And I would do it again tomorrow. But, I did lose feeling in the bottom of my left foot for a week. I was worried that I did permanent nerve damage at one point.

ETA: I had a short dress, so there would be no hiding sandals or flip flops, but I did have some with me.

I'm wearing flats..you definitely don't want to be in pain all night. I'd go with the sandals. Super cute.

Id go with sandals. I wore heels but only because my dress was just a little tiny bit too long and I didn't want to have to pay for it to be shortened. If your dress is long like mine, no one will see your shoes anyway. Go for comfort!

I got a pair of shoes with a 2 inch wedge heel. I am tall to begin with so would never wear 4 inches or anything like that but went with a thicker heel to feel more comfortable walking around.

No one is going to see your shoes in a long gown so go with what you like best!

I wore Betsy Johnson and they were amazing! I danced all night with no complaints. I heard badgleys hurt.

I'm wearing Badgley Mischka Bankston sandals and have been taking dancing lessons in them and thats made them much more comfortable. I think I'll be fine in them all day. I wear heels pretty frequently so I don't mind too much. They are a lower heel though then your Roxy style. Photo attached.

I am seriously considering burgundy vans because that's one of my colors, they're comfy, and it's kinda cute.

I'm wearing a 2 or 3 inch heel. I just feel more dressy and bridal in heels.

Will anyone see them? My dress is long enough so no one will see my footwear, so personally I plan on wearing my ratty ass gardening converse or my adidas 'cloud shoes' as I call them because they're so comfortable. lol If they are noticeable when I walk I plan on wearing some plain white flats, toms or something. Maybe get fancy and buy the lacy ones.

I'm wearing my awesome heels for the ceremony and until the pics are done... and MOH's gifted me a pair of flats (bedazzled ones) to wear for the rest of the night

I'm actually going with a wedge. To be honest, I'd prefer flats. I'm only wearing wedges because my FH is a foot taller than me and I really don't want to look super short in all of the pictures. However, I bought a pair of flats for the reception just in case I need them.

I understand your concern, but since I'm so short, I definitely wore heels, and they were so beautiful. I did change into a shorter dress with adorable sandals later into the reception so I could dance. Perhaps get some cute comfortable wedges to change into for the reception?

YUP. I bought some lovely Badgley Mischka shoes. I could barely wear them for pictures. I was in my flats before the ceremony, and the bottom of my dress got really dirty. Wish I hadn't even bothered with those stupid shoes. You couldn't even see them under my dress anyway! Grrr.

Ps. I rarely wear heels, so I might not be as tough about them as others.

Thanks everyone! I think I'm going to make the more rational decision of comfort. The betsey shoes are definitely beautiful even if they don't make me swoon quite like the badgley's. Thanks everyone for your help!

I bought Jimmy Choos for my wedding. Similarly to you, I saw them and they were too gorgeous not to buy (plus there was only one pair left in my size..). They went so well with my dress, and I took them to use during alterations. They were less than comfortable, but I kept them on most of the night anyway because they were so beautiful! I still wear them for fancy events, and I'm hoping they eventually become more comfy Smiley smile

No one noticed my shoes under my 9 layer dress! So glad I didn't spend more than $25!
