Brides who wore heels, were your feet killing you? Any advice?

Michelle, on March 9, 2020 at 4:29 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 18

I only wear heels (about 3-3.5 inches) when I dress up so it's not too often. I love the look of heels though I don't think anyone would really see my shoes lol. Any advice? I saw on old threads that gel inserts work well. I plan on buying flats just in case but I think that might make my dress look too long.

Here's the shoes: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GFCHDGX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Those shoes are adorable, but honestly I’d be hesitant to wear heels for any length of time at the wedding. I wear them to work daily and about the 4 hour mark I’m ready to give in.

Additionally, you want to break in the shoes so they are more comfortable than a pair just bought for the wedding.
Looking at those shoes, they are really cute and sexy, but I don’t see much comfort in the ball of your foot area. I’d definitely try them for awhile.

You need to find heels with more support. Consider platform so there is not as much of a difference between the heel and ball and there is more support for the ball of the foot. I also am wearing block heel which is more comfortable than a stiletto heel. My advice is to go and try them all on and walk walk walk before you buy them!

Hmm, do you think gel soles would help? Maybe try to find some stick on ones.

Not sure, just depends on how thin / thick that shoe is.

They look so delicate might be hard to hide gel soles too

Guess I should just start wearing them as soon as I get them and opt for some more comfortable flats or low heels for reception lol.

Always go for comfort no matter the heel

A friend told me for her wedding she and her bridesmaids applied some kind of numbing cream on their feet for wearing their high heels aha but honestly I think it’s ok to change out of more comfortable heels during the bulk of your reception

Read somewhere here that someone wore platform sandals lol. Maybe that’s an option so the dress isn’t dragging so much!

Yeah definitely!! Or look into wedges. There's a lot of options but ultimately it depends on your feet and your comfort level

I love these shoes though so I am thinking of more comfy shoes for reception that have some height lol.

I put flip flops on late at night because we had a beach wedding so I had them handy, but the shoes were comfortable and I’ve worn them again.

Block heels are more comfortable for me, but I’ll still be bringing more comfy shoes to my reception

I think I’ll go that route. Buy a second pair of shoes for reception, platform sandals for the height or regular sandals and add a bustle if I can. I love the heels lol and something about them being in the detailed wedding photos makes me want them.

I switched out of my pretty (but super painful!) shoes for our first dance. I got these dance shows from amazon and they’re the most comfy things in the world. Literally wore them all night without any pain! It’s not the prettiest, but my dress was so long no one could see my shoes anyway. lol

Yeah, our first dance choreographer actually recommended them to me! I wish I could wear them everytime I need to wear heels. Such a good deal for less than $60. I literally wore my wedding shoes for like 2 hours and they were 5x the amount of these. Biggest waste of money.
