Brides! Where did you buy your reception dress?

Sharay, on December 30, 2018 at 11:00 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 30
I’m obsessed with finding a 2nd dress for the reception I want it to be just as elegant and as glamorous as my wedding gown.

Where did you all get yours?

Are they really that important?

I dont think they're necessary. I paid enough for my dress I would hate to only wear it for like an hour.

I was the EXACT same way! I actually bought a white pantsuit from fashion nova and created a detachable train with appliqués on the bodice for a 3rd of a price of a second dress !

I'm not changing because as the first bride stated, I paid enough for my dress...

Ate they important? No. I know plenty of people that stayed in their dress all night long.

I bought mine from www.lightinthebox.com and absolutely love it. I only plan on changing because I don't want to wear heels all night nor be afraid of spilling something on my wedding dress. Plus the dress I bought I have been eyeing it for years.

I wore my one dress all day cause I loved it so much and paid enough for it. I wanted to wear it out to the bars afterwards but I don't last.

If I had a second dress it would have been shorter and lighter-- mine was long and already light.

Depending on your style and dancing I'd say to keep it Glam if you'd like but be weary if it's beaded and heavy. Sometimes those beads can be scratchy especially under arms.

I went to a couple weddings where the bride's had two dresses. One for a vintage flapper dress which was super cute and fringed and good for dancing. The other brides dress was basically the same dress-- so similar if she hadn't told me I wouldn't have noticed.

To me comfort is key but do you, it's your day!

I got my reception dress at a bridal shop, on their discontinued rack.

(Hit “reply” too fast) I bought a 2nd dress because we had a separate local reception and it was a different theme so I bought a polka dot dress and the seamstress made it tea length for our 50’s/60’s reception.

I really wanted a second but the money I’m paying for the first dress I’m gonna wear that puppy ALL NIGHT and every first Wednesday to Walmart just because!!! Too much $$ plus I don’t want to be away from my party not even for one minute just to change clothes!!!

Some brides prefer to wear a second dress. Which is perfectly fine! In my case, I am wearing mine the whole day and getting my money's worth! Lol

I plan on getting a 2nd dress, so I would also love to see where some bride's got their reception dresses. I love my dress, but I am getting married in July, and the underneath fabric is heavy and hot, so I am doing a second dress strictly for comfort reasons.

I’m toying with the idea of a second dress because I have a ball gown and I’m not sure I will be comfortable the entire night. If I get a second one, I think I want it simple and I definitely want it cheap!

Believe it or not I bought my reception dress on Amazon! I’m going to stay in my wedding dress for the first and dinner but once the party starts I’m going to change just so I can be comfortable. My wedding and reception are both outside and there’s grass so I think for the reception something shorter for me was better. I say do what you want! You can stay in your dress for most of the night then change towards the end of you want!

Im a budget bride and bought my dress from DB during a crazy Black Friday sale for $200 and ended up falling in love with another elegant (but much lighter) dress that I’ll wear for the reception for about $130. I plan to stay in my wedding dress for the first half of the reception because I know folks will want pictures but when the dancing starts gettin’ good, I plan to slip into my party dress. Now! If I had spent and arm and a leg on my wedding dress, I’m def with everyone else: I’m getting all the wear I can get!!!!
