Brides that have used Men's Warehouse for Tux Rental

Sarah, on June 9, 2015 at 4:38 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 26

Hey everyone! So I am getting married on January 16th and wanted some input on Men's Warehosue tux rentals. I have 3 groomsmen that live in Arkansas, 1 in Kentucky, and 2 in Alabama. I have registered at Men's warehouse to get my tuxes and wanted some reviews from women that have used them before. I want to hear the pros/cons before I start handing out money.

They've been wonderful for us. If you get 5 tux rentals from then, the groom gets a free rental or credit toward purchasing a suit or tux of his choosing. You can also present them with the coupon for $40 off the rental or 40% off the purchase. We have guys in 3 different states, as well, so it has really worked out well going through MW, because there's one close to each of the guys. They've also been really easy to work with. If FH or myself have a question or want to change something with the tux, they've been really helpful and accommodating in that sense. Our tuxes are costing $150 for rental after the $40 off was applied, to give you an idea of cost. I would definitely recommend them.

I would recommend them as well. We had 9GMs plus DH, and we also go the free rental. They were professional and the guys looked great. Ours were just over $200

We didn't like talking with them. Maybe it was the lady or just the day but they were jerks about the price and the tuxes we picked. We had gotten quotes from other tux places in the area and one of them was $30 less than MW. The lady didn't want to hear it and gave me some bull about their suits being designer, and started badmouthing the other place. Not the type of person I want to work with.

Needless to say, we went with a different place

So far they have been good for us. We have 5 GM and both of our dads, so we could have gotten FH's tux rental for free, had he gotten the same tux as the others. We got one of the cheapest rentals for the guys at $135, but that includes everything except underwear, so not too bad. FH decided to go with a Vera Wang tux, and that was like $205 or something like that. If he had opted for the "free" tux rental, we would have only had the $135 the other guys are in off of his rental. But that is okay, we are getting him a free suit instead, he doesn't have one anyway, and all guys should have at least one.

If you are getting your BM dresses from David's Bridal, they are affiliated, and their accent colors can match the BMs perfectly. The chain thing is nice for when your bridal party is scattered about. We have 2 BMs out of state, it was easy for them to get the same dress w/DB. Even though the guys are all within an hour of us, it is still nice b/c with chains there will be a location more convenient to them.

We used them and had a wonderful experience. We had GMs in five states so it worked out really well for us. Very affordable.

It worked well for us as well. We got the Vera Wang Black brand and I think it was about $180/person?

Make an appointment before you go. You can walk in, but when we went we got priority over the walk ins and with two people working...that was a good thing.

So to get the "free" tux or credit towards purchase, all the rentals must be the same? Do ring bearer tuxes count as part of the 5? I'm wondering bc FH will probably purchase his tux and we will have the guys (big and small lol) all rent a matching suit in order to help them save money. So since they would be renting suits, FH would not qualify for the percentage off on his tux?

@Laura, you can probably ask them to provide a discount off the purchase price. Just a thought.

We had a great experience, and then my husband also had a great experience with them as a groomsman last month.

For the credit, the rentals must all be part of the wedding party. But I don't think they have ring bearer tuxes. They didn't have one small enough for my nephew, so we purchased one (but they gave us a 40% off coupon to use it).

Edited to add: They don't have to be the same. I remember that the got his dad to get a tux and it was different. Our 5 were four groomsmen and his dad.

We haven't physically gotten our tuxes yet but so far our experience has been great. We went to the shop near us, picked out four tuxes, paid for the fitting, and selected that store as our pick up location. The four groomsmen who need tuxes live in Massachusetts, Colorado, and Louisiana so they will go to their local shop, try on the tuxes, order them and then once everyone gets in town the week before the wedding, they will all go pick them up. We figured that was safest so that a) no tuxes get injured while traveling and b) I can make sure they all get back on time.

Do the various locations have different selections for rentals? The one we went to said they only had the Vera Wang line and that seemed like so much money.

My fiance bought his tux from there and received a free suit. They did a good job on being timely and with the alterations.

We've had a terrible experience but I'm guessing it's the store we're dealing with. FH's store before we moved was amazing. He even contemplated driving 4 hours to deal with "his guy".

First of all, ring bearer tuxes are the same cost as adult tuxes which no one explained to us. Still reeling from the call from FBIL over why we felt his 2 year old needed a $200 tux rental. Next, the lost our deposit that was assigned to our group and refused the people getting fitted even though there was no possible way that we could have a group without the deposit. Lastly, every GM has had issues while getting fitted at their respective stores.

So far, so good. We chose one of the Vera Wang tuxes, about $200 after applying a bridal show discount, and FH is going to use store credit for a suit, because the store credit is more than the rental. The RB suit rental is $100 (half) and the smallest size it comes in is 2T, They also have an app, which my techie fiancée loves because he got push notifications every time one of his guys went in for a fitting, so he knew who he needed to follow up with.

It all depends on the store. We've been VERY happy with our experience with them and they've been accommodating with our needs. Our GMs were spread all over, so it was nice that they could get fitted in their own state.

Advice: Check out the colors in the store before deciding on anything. Sometimes the colors online were VERY different to what was in the store- but that could just be my computer settings.

Renting the suits there is only about $10 cheaper than getting the tuxes. We loved using them since we have to have somewhere that has multiple locations so the guys can get their tuxes. We had a coupon for $40 off each tux and a $100 gift card to restaurant.com. We also have the option to get either his rental for free or we can get a free suit (up to $600). It was nice too that they had matching colors to the DB dresses so we could easily match the dresses to the vests.

ETA: we're getting Vera tuxes for about $180+tax. If we did the RB tux there they had an option for $60 for him, but it was cheaper for us to just buy what he'll wear that day.

Only problem I ran into is I wanted charcoal grey tuxes. They told me 'yes we have them'. No they were not charcoal, just a grey. So I switched to black otherwise no problems.
