No. I'm calling them my bridesmaids. I think that whole squad and crew thing is way overdone.

Please now. Presumably these are grown women. You call them your bridesmaids.

My friends...my bridesmaids...I think the "squad" and "crew" and "bride tribe" things are a bit much.

I know you call them bridesmaids. I'm not questioning their role or traditional title. I'm just asking for something cleaver or different that others are doing. That's all.

Do people seriously come up with these lame nicknames for a bridal party? I hate the language that has become so commonplace now. Ick.

    Are people actually doing this?

    I think it's lame too.

All over Etsy there are these "bride tribe" and "brides squad" shirts. My assumption was that those were just shirts to wear to the bachelorette party? Not something that you legitimately call them

I call them my friends unless I am specifically talking about them in the context of my wedding, and then I call them my bridespeople (I have a bridesman). There's no need to call them anything else, and most of the other names (tribe, squad, etc) sound super juvenile.

    Also:

    Cleaver: a type of knife

    Clever: funny or unique

Also cleaver is a kitchen utensil so maybe that's not the word you want to use (unless those bitches don't drop everything for YOUR SPECIAL DAY, then you might want one amirite?!).

@ Celia I guess so. I think its more common with the younger brides though, you know the ones that go and buy all the matching t shirts and write #bridesquad on instagram lol. Not taking anything away from you OP I've had friends who've done it.

No. I'm old and boring and so are my friends. They don't need clever names and I know that I would be annoyed to be referred to as part of a bride tribe or squad.

Also none of those names will be clever. They are way overdone in my opinion.

The only one of these I haven't heard used yet is "bitch brigade" so that might be "cleaver".

I've seen those shirts on Etsy and Pinterest and I personally think they're a waste. The terms are overused and I don't think any of those ladies wear the shirts again after that night.
