@Rebecca, Yes he did. Funny story it was snowing outside and he was out in our front yard with our chocolate lab. I had a gut feeling there was going to be a proposal but I just did not know when or how he was going to do it. Over the fall we had corn stalks tied to our front posts on the house and birds kept making nests inside them. I had decorated for Christmas a couple days earlier, and on the front porch we had a Christmas Tree with mock presents and a sled and so forth. Paul came into the house and told me that a bird had made a nest in our Christmas tree on the front porch. I laughed and said I was not surprised. He asked for me to come out and look at it that there was little babies inside the nest. I put on my slippers and walked out front and up onto the front porch and not thinking anything of it, as he was standing there with a grin on his face and our dog looking aimlessly at the Christmas tree I turned and did a quick glance and did not see a nest, so I said where?! he kept going right there and pointing at the tree I turned around again and just as I did that the lights on the tree captured the glare of the diamond so I quickly grabbed the box and turned to him as said "OMG R U SERIOUS?" and just as the last words came flying out of my mouth he dropped to one knee and asked "Will you be my girl forever"? I said Yes and the dog got excited. Paul explained that he had a ton of scenarios he could of went with, dinner, Christmas Eve, New Years but at that point he could not keep calm and wanted to do it at home where it was more intimate and where we actually first met. It had a lot of meaning behind it and we are super excited to say that the engagement was December 5th 2016. Our wedding is set for July 2019 after doing a remodel and addition on our home.

That's absolutely adorable!!! I love that, even though you had a feeling that he was going to propose, it still came as a total surprise!! And I also like that he chose an intimate setting So romantic!!
I love how your dog knew that something was happening too! My dog is the WORST when it comes to surprises. We did an Easter egg hunt for the little kids in my family last year and she kept grabbing the Easter eggs from the hiding spots and making a pile of the on her bed! I feel like she'd give away the surprise!!
Did you feel like something was up when you saw how excited they both were?!
