I've been a groomsmaid in a wedding where they wanted to even things up when the bride had a man of honor. I've also been the best woman. Both times I was asked if I wanted to wear a suit or a gown, and I went with gown.

I'm having a MOH and a Best Man because that's who my best friends are. And they're old/close friends too, so I wouldn't have it any other way. Since my MOH is having her first child three months before the wedding, he'll probably be on bachelorette party duty!

My best man likes to get fancy, so he'll be in a similar suit as the groomsmen, but with a snazzier vest to coordinate with my MOH's gown. Our processional will be uneven regardless (I have 2 attendants and my FH will probably have 3), but I don't mind.

Yes it’s so common now! If he’s one of your best friends then do it. Who cares! He’ll be happy to be by your side on your day.
