Bride's Getting Ready Outfit?

Heidi, on July 2, 2022 at 9:17 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 14

Hi there. I am trying to figure out my getting ready outfit... I keep seeing almost all white for the bride's outfit but I found a set of jammies that I like a lot and they're light pink. Is there a reason besides "wedding white" that the getting ready outfits are white? Do other colors mess things up for make-up? Just trying to figure things out. lol

Thank you!

There’s no reason to wearing all white expect that white screams bridal and adds to the feeling like a bride that day(for most). Nothing wrong with getting other colors, if you love it, go for it!Smiley smile

My makeup artist actually suggested I wear whatever color my dress is while getting ready, because other colors can give hues to your skin tone and make up choices

I'm probably just going to wear a white tshirt and some sweatpants lmao. I'm not big into the getting ready outfits. I think like stated before it's probably best to wear white

I just made these for me and my bridal party and they can wear whatever comfy pants they want… we aren’t taking any getting ready pictures but I thought they would be super cute and we can get some selfies ! Also I wanted to stand out 😂🤗

I just wore a shirt with a wide collar I already owned that was easy to take off so I wouldn't mess up my hair and makeup. You can wear whatever you want. The special getting ready outfits are a pinterest/instagram trend.

I'm buying my girls zip up hoodies with their initial on it like these:

    Bride's Getting Ready Outfit? 2

I bought myself one in white that has my new initials on it. This way they can wear leggings or whatever they're comfortable in underneath the zip up and we can get a couple cute matching getting ready pics.

My mother in law got me a robe/pj set, so I'll probably wear those first to get a couple pics in too, just because I don't want to upset her.

I’m wearing a dress that’s already in my closet that is easy to slip over my head. Just one less thing to spend money on.

I personally got a white robe because I wanted white everything for all the pre-wedding events, but you absolutely don't have to! I think you in blush and your bridesmaids in a darker color would look beautiful. Or them all in white/gray and you in a color.

These look AWESOME! Your bridal party will love them ❤️ I ended up getting everyone those oversized white button down shirts (Tom cruise style). I was hoping they were a little longer, but that’s okay - I told everyone to bring black leggings!

I wore a light blue button down shirt (I didn't want to have to lift it over my head and take a chance on snagging my hair) and shorts. You don't necessarily need white, but a softer color, that's unlikely to impart hues to your skin is definitely the way to go. I agree that the matching outfits/getting ready photos are something of a social media trend - but if you like it, do you.

I have been in wedding parties that did matching and coordinating outfits and ones that did not. When my wedding day came mid-Covid, I couldn’t have cared less what everyone wore while getting ready, as long as they were comfortable. I also wasn’t getting any professional photos done yet. I actually wore a cami, leggings, and champagne-colored satin robe I had once received as a bridesmaid. No matter which road you take, make sure it is something that can easily be removed so avoid messing up hair or makeup!

I never thought of this, but it's a great point! I always just figured I'd wear white because... bride lol.

I got a white zip hoodie with my new name embroidered on, then I got matching monogrammed zip hoodies for the getting ready squad along with monogrammed leggings and slippers for everyone. We aren't doing formal getting ready photos, but I always thought it was fun to have matching outfits.
