Bride postponing...safety for new date

Sabine, on April 16, 2020 at 9:32 PM Posted in Planning 0 2
Bride who postponed due to covid 19, knowing we aren't going back to normal until 2nd half 2021, so the virus will still be around even if shutdown end.. What safety measures are you going to take to make sure no guest or venue staff has covid or prevent your guests from being contaminated?

It's going to be crazy to see what the "new normal" looks like for a little while!

I think the most important things moving forward will be to listen to the federal and local guidelines about size of social gatherings and recommendations for high risk people, and continuing to encourage everyone to stay home if they have any symptoms!!

That's a great question. The answer is that no one can do anything to truly prevent contamination. Federal and local guidelines aren't very encouraging right now because there are a lot of politics involved instead of science. So, honestly, the only way to be sure, is to not have a wedding event until there is a vaccine or a way to test for antibodies at least. Also, considering how many people don't display any symptoms at all, simply asking guests to stay home if they're not feeling well isn't helpful because how someone is feeling isn't a metric used to measure infection. At some point we do have to go back to living a semi-free life, yes. But that time isn't now.
