Bride & Groom Tshirts

Courtney, on September 13, 2016 at 5:56 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 19

Looking for suggestions on where to find bride and groom tshirts (in stores preferably). I work at a riding stables and twice a year we do a scavenger hunt on horseback. My husband always comes out and rides with me as my partner and this weekend we plan on being "The Newlyweds" team. My plan was to get bride and groom tshirts, a cheap veil for me and a top hat or something for him and decorate our horses with flowers or something. I'm having a hard time finding stores that sell tshirts (no tank tops) that say bride and groom though or Mr. & Mrs.

I'm going to check Hobby Lobby and Party City and maybe some Halloween stores tomorrow and see what I can find. The scavenger hunt is this weekend so it'd be too late to buy online. Looking to not spend a whole lot as well.

Typically I've seen them at Michael's and David's Bridal

Michael's (or a similar store) may have the "Bride" and "Groom" iron-on decals that you could transfer onto plain t-shirts.

Buy plain white shirts, use freezer paper and acrylic fabrics paint! Its so easy to DIY these yourself using the freezer paper method!

Don't do hobby lobby. Etsy, amazon, Michaels, etc. There are MORAL alternatives to HL.

I got ones off of Etsy. I was able to find ones on there that were more unique then the traditional Bride/Groom ones.

I'm trying to price different ones online and I may just end up buying tshirts and fabric painting it on myself. I'm not looking for anything nice or pretty, just bride and groom. Maybe our last name on the back.

Freezer paper you can get by the foil at the grocery store. Cut your design out (by free hand or printing and tracing it onto the freezer paper) and iron the freezer paper shiny side down on your shirt, paint with fabric paint. Search on Pinterest for proper instructions. I highly recommend the freezer paper method, it's super easy!

Like this, see? They will paint it, when it dries, just peel the freezer paper off and this shirt will say "hello" Alternatively, you can use fabric glue to paint, available at Michaels, and sprinkle glitter to make it sparkle!

TBH I've only seen them at michaels/joann and novelty places like spencers. You might get a better range from etsy.

Walmart has tshirts for less than $5. I bought some for $3 and its surprisingly comfortable and nice. Then use whatever method you like to personalize it. Hobby Lobbys or Michael's should have decals or even stencils that can be used to paint

Hobby Lobby- it was a big thing in the news, they refused to cover certain birth control for their female employees because of their beliefs

Someone on my local fb posted earlier that Target had Bride and Bride Tribe ones on sale...maybe look at their website to see if they have grooms ones too?
