Bride and Groom Send-off Time

Skylar, on September 28, 2020 at 4:08 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

Hi! My wedding date is Saturday, January 16th, 2021, and here is my timeline. My photographer suggested 9 p.m. as the send-off/grand exit time. Is that too early? Should I ask about pushing it back? If so, 9:30 p.m. or 10 p.m.?

3:30-4:00 p.m. Ceremony

4:00 - 5:00 p.m. Cocktail Hour

5:00 p.m. Grand Entrance into Reception

Thanks for your advice,

Skylar

Typically people do a faux send off actually lol I’ve heard of that being a common thing. It’s so the photographer can have the photos with lots of people in the background before the people start to leave

Oh yes, I just was the MOH in a wedding that did this, and it was such a great and creative idea!

I think 9 p.m. is fine! however, be flexible enough to leave a little earlier if people have started to leave, or you can stay a little longer if the party is still going strong! we didn't specify an exact sendoff time but decided to play it by ear. we thought we'd leave at 9 but ended up leaving about 8:45 (our ceremony started at 4 and everything was at the same venue).
