Bride and groom kisses

SoonToBeVeeRoach, on May 22, 2017 at 2:07 PM Posted in Planning 0 6

Has anyone done an alternative to clanking glasses for the bride and groom to kiss at their wedding? I saw "ring for a kiss" with a bell on tables but that's about it. I just hate the sound of the silverware hitting the glass so more than likely we just won't kiss whenever someone does it and hope that they stop but I'd also love to hear what other people did too.

I've seen the "kissing menus" which are cute. I despise silverware hitting glass and we have several people in our family who think that's SO FUN TO DO 100x I'm trying to avoid it as well.

I detest the "make the bride and groom kiss" things, honestly. I'm all for "you may kiss the bride", but I refuse to let others dictate when my FH and I kiss...I'm not big on PDA anyway. lol I'm following this to see if there's a nice way to say no to those things..

Every wedding I've been too for family, it's like a constant thing. The bride and groom barely had any time to actually eat because they were kissing so much lol so like I said in the post, we're probably just going to ignore it. I don't like the idea of people telling me when to kiss my FH. It's just weird to me.

I was looking at DJ's over the weekend, and one website suggested that they make the guests work for the kiss by singing and stuff like that. I imagine that would cut down on the nonsense.

I had some friends who, in lieu of clanking glasses, had a microphone set up. If someone wanted the bride and groom to kiss, they had to go over and sing part of a love song...it eliminated the obnoxious clanking, allowed the bride and groom to actually eat (since it's a lot easier for a guest to clank a glass than to get up the courage to sing in front of a bunch of people), and provided some pretty funny entertainment to boot. Smiley laugh

My cousin and his wife had a quiz about them at each place setting, and every table had an answer to one of the questions. If someone finished answering the whole quiz, they brought it up to the head table and my cousin and his bride had to kiss.
