Bride and groom announcement

Who else is planning to attend their cocktail hour (we're doing a first look and taking most of the pictures before the ceremony), but still want to be "announced" at the reception? How would that work?

I saw this happen yesterday and I could tell the guests were a little surprised that they had to sit through intros after everyone was at cockta hour. It comes off as a little silly. We are going to cocktail hour and will
sit down for dinner with everyone else and will be introduced into our first dance. We don’t have a wedding party, and no one really cares who they are anyways.

We did this. We joined our cocktail hour about 15 minutes in and 15 minutes before it ended our DOC grabbed us and H and I just went to the bridal suite to spend some one on one time together. When cocktail hour was over, our wedding party and my daughter joined us and we were all introduced once everyone was seated. We went straight into our first dance and then the first course was served immediately following that.

We plan to do the same as this except first dance after dinner and cake cutting! It might be silly but my soon to be step daughters (10&9) are going to love having their names announced so why not!

That's totally fine, I was in a wedding that did this last year. They were at cocktail hour, then stepped out while people were told to take their seats. Then they were announced with the wedding party!
