Bridals?

Does she offer bridal portraits only or can you exchange them for engagement pictures with fiance? You should feel comfortable while doing a get to know you session with her and bridal pictures aren't your thing, make sure she is aware. Don't ever feel pressured into what you aren't comfortable with.

If it's included in your package pricing then I recommend to get a few shots by yourself.

I didn't do them. They're pretty uncommon in my area, so it didn't occur to me to have them taken, but even if I'd thought of it, I don't think I would've had them done. I'm similar to you in that I would rather have pictures with both of us together. We recently got our photos back and there are actually several pictures of me alone anyway. I'm just kind of swirling my dress around, so I feel like we ended up with some of the photos I would've gotten from a bridal shoot, but I was definitely more comfortable than I would've been in those because they were taken after our portraits and, while I'm alone in the photos, I wasn't actually alone at the time.

I think the question is what will you do with the pictures? Will you really hang up a picture of just you? (When you will have great ones of you both or with family/friends). If taking pictures alone is already uncomfortable, then it is unlikely the specialness of the shoot will overpower your unease (I know it wouldn’t for me!). If the only purpose is to make you feel special, there are other ways to do that which are likely cheaper and more practical.

I think i'll have some shots of me by myself just naturally and i don't particularly want posed ones, so i think i'm gonna go with the more basic package.

I didn't have bridal portraits, and I don't regret it. there are a ton of solo shots of me on our actual wedding day, which I feel like would have been the exact same as bridal portraits. I didn't particularly want to put my dress on prior to the wedding and get my hair, makeup, and a bouquet made just for bridal portraits. it's a pretty common thing in my area for the bride to display her bridal portrait at the wedding, but I just didn't care haha

Our package included bridal portraits and I absolutely loved them! Not only do you have lovely photos, it’s your chance to get a preview of your “look” for wedding day. Hair, makeup, getting comfortable walking around in your heels and wedding dress. I do recommend bring flats too, your feet will thank you later!
