Bridal Table - Who Makes The Cut?

mrswinteriscoming, on May 10, 2020 at 10:06 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 5
Hi all

We will be getting married in December, and in our bridal party are my sister and aunt (practically my big sister) as bridesmaids, and my future brother-in-Law as best man. Otherwise we will have 2 flower girls (3 years so they won’t be at the reception) and my 7 year old cousin (aunt’s son) as our page boy.
In our wedding reception we are having a rectangular table of 10 as the bridal table. This is where the problem begins - we will be having 2 sets of parents, my husband and I, but don’t know if what to do about the last 4 seats. Either we have my sister (15) and my cousin (page boy) along with my aunt and future brother in law (who will definitely be on the table), or we have my uncle and BIL’s wife, in place of my sister and cousin.
We may possibly be able to do a table of 12 but I am yet to confirm with the wedding venue so I am mulling over who to keep on the table??!
Option A; sister and cousin at the table, move my uncle and BIL’s wife together to a table of people they know/their age (BIL and his wife love interstate and don’t know anyone here but the wife is super social) OR
Option B; have my sister and cousin at another table and put my uncle and BIL’s wife on the table so they sit with their partners
Thoughts?

From my experience the bridal table or head table is just the bridal party. So bride, groom, bridesmaids and groomsmen.

Or you can do a sweet heart table with just you and your husband and put everyone else at regular tables.
Do you have options at your venue or are you stuck with the rectangular 10 table? And honestly don’t stress about it. Seat what makes sense and leave it at that. They are only going to be eating at the table for 45 minutes and after that hopefully they’ll be up mingling and dancing.

We definitely want to have a full table, yet to find out whether we can have more people.

If we can have 12 it solves all our problems!

Well let’s hope for a 12 top then! If not, you can put names in a bag and whoever gets pulled them and their partner gets a seat at the table... 🤔 kidding but not kidding. LoL. Good luck to you!

Either do just the attendants (with significant others seated among guests) or sit at a table with just your new husband

Don't split up your wedding party from their SOs.
