Bridal Suite

Jenja, on September 17, 2015 at 3:10 PM Posted in Planning 0 11

I probably should have looked at this a lot earlier.

Anyways, to those of you getting ready outside of your home, where are you getting ready? Our venue doesn't really have a bridal suite, so I don't know what to do. I'm thinking of staying at a hotel close by the night before and the night of and then using that room? I just worry about the room being too small for all the girls to get ready (and photog, and make-up/hair person).

Did any of you that booked a hotel ask for the bridal suite? Did you stay there the night before or did you get a day rate?

Just trying to figure out what I should be doing, before moving on.

Maybe look into a Bed and Breakfast? Sometimes they have a bit more space and it's a fun different aspect Smiley smile if it's in your budget I mean. I'm still on the fence about where I'm getting ready as well!

I booked a suite at the hotel the night before and the night of and it was perfect for all of us. The hair stylist set up in the bedroom and the MUA set up in the living area. My venue did have a bridal suite, but we weren't allowed in the space early enough and it would have been way too small anyway. I did put my dress on there though.

The hotel didn't give us the suite for free (I know some do), but I did get a special rate for both nights. If you don't book it for the night before, you might not be able to check in as early as you would want to.

I plan on staying the night before with my bridesmaids (because they are late by nature and I need them to be in place on time) and the night of the wedding with my hubby. We'll probably do hair at the hotel, make up & dressing at the venue. The hotel I found has a 2 bedroom suite, so that is more than enough room for myself and 4 girls to start getting ready.

I will be getting a hotel, but the venue has a bridal suite (not as big as a hotel room though).

But, can you get 2 rooms? How many bridesmaids do you have? If you get a room maybe you can sweet talk the receptionist to upgrade you to a bigger suite?

Sorry, just not there in the planning stages but wish you luck, it'll work out in the end, maybe just gotta schedule everything accordingly so not everyone is in the room at the same time.

I booked a suite at the hotel wtih the room block. We will get ready there. My sisters will also have rooms there too. So there should be plenty of room!

It just sucks because the one hotel I really like has ridiculous prices, I think it's because it's next year because if you look at prices in December or earlier, they are reasonable prices. I'm waiting for the price around my wedding to go down just a bit. The other hotel has the day before the wedding unavailable (thought it comes and goes and might be available again in the future).

It's either I splurge on the nice hotel, or look into a rental home and maybe splitting that with my family.

I actually did get a business conference suite by simply asking for the upgrade at the hotel. They were really easy to work with on that.

Hm. I didn't even think about asking for an upgrade at the hotel. That could possibly work. I can try to use my charm. Maybe throw out the word Bride a couple of times.

So I just checked and apparently the Barrett Jackson Car Show is the weekend of my wedding. So most likely prices will stay high or rooms will get booked. I should just deal with having to pay a little more than I'd like.

My whole bridal party (and their SOs.... Most are traveling from OOT), my mom, and myself are staying at a gorgeous and historic B&B the night before. We have a late check out and will be getting ready there.
