Garnetta, on February 16, 2021 at 10:11 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 12

Since I am a first time BRIDE and this is pretty much all new to me since i havent been to a real wedding since i was a teenager lol. Anywho I am getting married at the end of OCTOBER sooooooo when would be a good time for a BRIDAL SHOWER?? I dont want to have it too soon but not to late either ughhhhhh. And as for the BRIDAL SHOWER DRESS......should I just go with the traditional white dress? Im not sure what the the decor is going to look like since my bridesmaids are setting and arranging that part. might just ask them that lol They did ask me about a good time and month for me and im honestly not sure because I dont know about that stuff lol

Hey Garnetta! In my opinion, I don’t think there is a time that’s too early or too late. I planned my sister’s bridal shower in June and her wedding wasn’t until October. I’m also getting married in October and I’m planning to have my bridal festivities in July/August. I’ve also seen people do a whole wedding weekend and their bridal shower is a few days before the wedding. This is to help minimize people’s travel costs so they only have to travel once. But honestly it’s 100% what you feel comfortable with Smiley smile As for attire, a super cute cocktail dress would be perfect!

First off Congrats on your big day!!! and secondly we pretty much got the same kind of ideas. I was certaily thinking along the lines of having it around july/august so everybody can still be able to travel for the wedding in october. and since most of my bridal party lives here in my town I figured it would be better. only two will travel from the wedding destination. I personally didnt want the weekend thing since we are already traveling to the wedding a week before and honeymoon afterwards. Thanks for the advice especially about the cocktail dress cause hunniiiiiii thats what I been looking at lol.

If I were having one, I would schedule it a month before and wear short white dress and use that day for my make up trial.

Hi Garnetta! If I have one it would be about a month before the wedding. I've seen brides in white or like blinged out white/silver.

We got married in January and had my shower the Sunday after Thanksgiving. So about 6 weeks before the wedding. I think that was perfect.
Personally, I wouldn’t want it too far out, but also don’t want it too close since you’ll be stressing with last minute stuff. Although, I do know people that have had it the weekend before. Long story short, pick the time that works best for you!

As far as attire I wore a simple white dress I had in my closet.

Usually bridal showers are within 1-3 months of the wedding, with most closer to that 1-2 month range. As far as the dress, you could wear whatever you want. I wore a blush colored dress. I've been to some where the bride wore white, and others where she wore something else. It's really personal preference.

As a guest at showers in the past, I have never once seen a bride wear a white dress. Usually she wears something cute she already owns in any color. I've even seen them skip the dresses for a blouse and slacks

Our bridal showers were 3-5 months before our wedding. The hosts of our showers gave us date options that worked for them and we picked which of those worked best for us. Maybe your host can suggest some available dates?

As far as a dress, you can wear whatever you want. I wore a multicolored floral dress to one of my showers, and then a white and gold dress to the other 2. There is no right or wrong answer.

My bridal shower will likely be about a month before the wedding. My sister (MoH) and mom are handling those details, so I'm not sure of the exact timing yet. As for what to wear, do what you want. One thing that FH and I value a lot is people being themselves. I hate dresses, so I have no intention whatsoever of wearing one for my bridal shower. I'll most likely be in jeans and a tank top, if I'm honest. (We are NOT fancy people over here, haha!)

My wedding date is set for September 25 and I plan to have my Bridal Shower sometime in June. I'm thinking about wearing a nice white jumpsuit with a tulle half skirt.

Hey 😀 I would say 1-2 months before your wedding. If you want to go the traditional route a white dress never fails to look lovely but to be honest I have seen so many different bridal showers where the bride wears different colored dresses and they look incredible! Stay true to you and if you find a dress you love OWN IT and have an amazing day 💕 I'm personally leaning towards a blush pink or blush blue dress and changing into a white dress for the opening of presents and games. 🥰 Still debating on the changing part but so far found a pink and a blue dress I loved!

Prior to wedding tv craze, most brides would wear whatever they felt pretty in: be it a sundress or blouse and slacks. And never white. White dress for shower/rehearsal only came into being because of wedding tv in the last 5 years.

Most showers are a couple months before the wedding.
