Hi
So I need advice, I'm the only daughter in my house and the first to get married in the family. My mom wants to throw me a bridal shower of just girls but she wants to make sure that my MIL is part of the planning. The thing is my MIL thinks it should be a girls and guys bridal shower. So I'm getting asked what I want which honestly at this point I dont want anything because I'm focusing on the actual wedding. I understand where my mom is coming from when she says is like having a small wedding because of the food and place and decorations plus is pretty much 75% of the people who are going to the wedding which is why she wants it all girls. I honestly don't mind the boys and girl but at the same time the all girls Bridal shower sounds good. My FH doesn't care about it. He says whatever I want but idk what I want at this point.

I wish mine could be guys and girls because I think it’d be more fun, but my fiancé can’t come and has no interest in coming anyway. so I decided it was better to be just girls so it wouldn’t be like a bunch of men there and not my fiancé.

Unless your FMIL is contributing more than just her opinion, I say go with your mom's plan. If your mom is paying and hosting, she has a say in how many guests she hosts.

If your mom is hosting, she decides whether it’s all women or coed.

I agree with pp, that if your mom is hosting and paying let her decide. Future MIL can still help with the planning, but unless she is paying, her opinion doesn't have a say in how many are invited.

Besides, it is fun to have some girl time and get pampered 😊

I had a bridal shower of just girls and I had a blast. it's definitely not necessary but it's fun because all these girls are celebrating you getting married. And bridal showers are so cute aha mine was an afternoon tea themed

Thank you everyone, that's how I feel about it and what I told my mom. I told her that if she is planning it to just do what she wants to do for me. I'll be happy either way. !
