Bridal shower thank you notes

Shannon, on October 9, 2020 at 1:23 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6
I’m working on my thank you notes for my bridal shower and confused on how I should go about it. My fiancé wasn’t there but all the gifts were from our registry that’s for both of us. Should I write them in first person and mention that we both appreciate it and sign it from just me or should it be signed by both of us? I just feel strange saying “thank you for coming to my bridal shower” and signing from both of us. What did y’all do?

No you can say we thank you because even if he was not there the gifts were for the both of you. Also, my friend that came to mine her hubby was not there but the card she stated we and that the gift was from her and her husband.

I would use “we” since the gifts are for both of you.

I would probably still say since the gifts are for both of you. I also received gifts that said from Mr. and Mrs. Smith even though only Mrs. Smith attended I still thanked both since the gift was from both.

Your shower, you speak for the two of you about using household things, from you if personal, and only you sign.

This is standard once married, too, whether you are doing a thank you or a newsy letter. Gift cards may be signed by both of you, or by one writing both names. They know by your use of names and pronouns, "James and I love to entertain now that we have a house of our own, and we will enjoy....gift. " that you are speaking for the two of you.
